"Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses,
who are only waiting to see us at once beautiful and brave.
Perhaps something is in their deepest being,
something helpless -
something that, in their own hopelessness, seeks help from us.
So you must not be frightened if a great... more »

Oh sorry I'm not much of an internet person. I actually had very little respect for sci-fi as a literary genre until I started reading dystopian novels, and the Foundations series.

well, i live in the business district of manila...unfortunately most high rises here do not have a view of the slums. it's summer time and it's freaking hot here right now...Most of my friends would like to go to the beach to cool down.

Yeah, I'm ok. I simply had a very busy week with a lot more lectures than usually. We had a guest lecturer for Estonian Literature so all his lectures, 16 hours, were this week, so I had all that on top of my normal classes. Now I still have to write him a ten page essay on something that doesn't interest me in the slightest. I'd so much rather concentrate on my Japanese exam in a few weeks. Life is cruel.

...actually, it is. I busted my knee at Monday's jujutsu practice and still went on Wednesday because it felt so much better already. So I was practically a cripple on Thursday, and today I decided to be sensible and skip the practice but it's goddamn annoying. I'm wondering whether I'll need a knee surgery before I'm 30. The knee seems to give me trouble quite regularly, once a month I'd say.

Well, whatever... I'll go again on Monday and break the knee again. I'm so smart and sensible that I sometimes frighten myself. I should simply stick to knitting and baking. Maybe I should adopt a few grandchildren first, though, so someone would care. I'd be so good at being a grandma, no one makes better apple pies or woolly socks than I do.

Hmm. I guess that went way beyond incoherent. This far I've only had one beer so that doesn't explain. I don't know, maybe I've just been too stressed out lately. I'll go and watch a bit of long-haired Schwarzenegger now, I suppose. I simply HAD TO buy Conan the Barbarian because it was so cheap. I was supposed to be shopping for a hoodie, jeans and a training bag, but whatever.

The book in my avatar is "Angels and Demons." It was taken a lazy Sunday around Halloween last year. I'm a photo-aholic, so there is no specific emotion I was feeling. It was more about playing with the camera.

I am primarily Filipino and Portuguese, however I have a Hispanic Surname.

I love Rainer Maria Rilke! I think Canticle for Leibowitz is probably one of the best/probably most accurate post-apocalyptic novels.

A drop of ink will make a million think, right? SO... that thinking is what this conversation has to do with books... hee hee.

I do enjoy roses. I only have mini roses in my yard. I've got a wild yellow hybrid red rose out in the backyard that drives me insane but enjoy it just the same. I'm a flower and plant fan, even though I don't know much, I very much enjoy them in my environment.

Please, none of those words are correct. I was actually impressed that you took such an interest to look into it. Not many would be that curious. I was just expressing... I knew.
