"Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses,
who are only waiting to see us at once beautiful and brave.
Perhaps something is in their deepest being,
something helpless -
something that, in their own... more »

    I apologize for the EXTREMELY late reply (it took me four months to notice this comment!), but better late than never, yes? You're completely right though; it was winter (January, actually) and it is looking over the Brooklyn side. I took the photo myself. Thank you for noticing and commenting; it means a lot to an amateur photographer. XD;

It's my summer holiday now, so I don't think it's much of a wonder if I'm not online for a couple of weeks, no? But I guess I should have stayed indoors. For the first time in my life I got properly sunburnt (only my back, but still it's not nice) while sailing, and my knee is now worse than it's been for three weeks, because I didn't remember to be careful with it. And I also almost had a hangover because... but the reason is again football so I'll stop here. But really, there is a bar in the US where they show soccer? Okay, I know there are a few. But still, I've thought one has to be a bit of an expert to find a bar like that.

Velkopopovický Kozel. I strongly recommend. Both Pale and Dark are good, but to be honest, when it comes to dark beer I'm unimaginative enough to like Guinness best.

I don't initiate, why would I? I'm lazy, can't be bothered with something like that. Besides, I'm spoiled rotten. I usually don't need to.

But this will be another boring message not worth responding, because nothing much has happened. Oh well, I was in Estonia and it was fun enough. We got to see some folk dances, mansions, museums and met with very strange people. It was fun because I traveled with other language and language theory students, so we actually thought, all of us, that the pronunciaton of Danish and a particular Estonian adverb make for proper ingredients of jokes. The expressions of the poor passengers near us on the ship back to Finland were quite amusing when all of us burst out laughing at the thought of a "ingressive voiced consonant vowel". We were really tired. Because that was plain stupid, not funny. But I'm proud if we managed to bore someone to tears despite being all loud and giggly and in every way looking and sounding like we should have been talking about drinking or clothes or sex. Waking up seven in the morning every day for a week didn't do good to any of us.

I don't mind if you look at my journal, or flickr, or whatever else.. I wouldn't post something on the internet if I didn't want people to look and comment. And I would love to see the finished project whenever it's done!

You should recommend a book to me, after you've looked through my shelf. :)

You know how I like the rain. You're lucky. It's been all sun here.
whenever I feel happy and excited i remember something. Not really anything that make me feel like I just went on a crazy roller coaster with the stomach flu.
I guess because I've been so busy with these last few weeks of school. 2 projects. 1 book assignment. and math homework everyday with a big, huge test coming up that will determine if you will go on to the next level in math.
It can break ya down when you can't sleep either.

Proud of it or not, I am most assuredly a beer and wine girl. I love good beer, and I'm small so liquor usually knocks me on my toosh faster than I can keep track of, and causes me the most severe hangovers. That didn't used to be an issue, but aahhh, the joys of entering into adulthood.

I haven't moved yet, my brother and I are moving this summer. We're just waiting for our house to be finished and all the pieces to fall into place.

I say that I spend my sleeping hours wide awake, and my hours awake half asleep. It's frustrating as all hell. So, I can relate to the insomniac in you. I definitely go through major phases with my sleeping patterns though, and they seem to be a bit unpredictable. School is almost out for summer! I'm quite thrilled.

Yeah.. I've been spending hours on here almost every night.

Thank you for your comment. I suppose it's natural for them to be "eclectic" when I myself am rather eclectic.. or atleast my interests and hobbies are. Makes me sad that you would say something like that.. you should want to be happy and content! And if you want that for yourself, then you will most definitely find it.

I see you've changed your screen name to better reflect the hypothesis of the monster man. Hmm…

    kaip tu gyveni

    “Took an arrow?”
That’s an interesting way to express your impatience.
It’s been a long day at work; apparently my exhaustion checked my sense of humor at the door. It is good to know that I am missed. (I think)
Fortunately for you, I seem to be dealing with insomnia at the moment.
I take it that you are off work this week? Still healing?
To answer what I think you were asking:
The archery was lovely. The style feels a bit different from my compound bow, but it is fascinating to study the old ways. There was a man there who was adept in the Japanese longbow (Yumi). The design is made for equestrians...sounds right up my alley.

What were we talking about during our last conversation?
    Oh yes, Lithuania…
Did I mention that I am so glad to have met you? What random oddness…on a website dedicated to books, no less!?! Perhaps, you are long-lost family. Who knows?
The Lithuanian is from my paternal grandmother’s side of the family. As the story goes, my great-grandfather was forced into the Russian army to serve as a cook. My grandmother claimed that he was treated very badly –beaten, etc.
As with war, their camp came under heavy attack. As, he lay among the dead in the snow, he was waiting for the chance to escape. Much information has been lost as to the exact details, but somehow he made it to Ellis Island. From there he went West to stay with his sister. As they say, the rest is history.
    And here I am.
My paternal great-grandmother is also from Lithuania. She was sent to America by her father. At the time, the Russian language was apparently imposed on the people there. She flat out refused to speak or learn the language. She was reportedly extremely willful with a twisted sense of humor that lasted until her dying day. Our American culture was quite a transition for her; some things got lost in translation. She used to laugh at the advertisements for “Schick” razors.
(When you know what it means it is funny.)
Well, they married, fought horribly, were almost hanged by ‘The Klan’ for making whiskey, yet managed to stay together until they died of old age.
    Shocking isn’t it?
And that is only part of my family. I haven’t got to the part where my grandparents were banished from the Catholic Church. I’ll save that for another day.
Do you want to know what else makes up a Bronte? Well, grab another cup of coffee; this is going to take a minute.
As you know, the Lithuanian is from my paternal grandmother’s side of the family. My paternal grandfather’s side is primarily German and Irish with a little American Indian thrown in from god knows where. Sprinkle in a bit of French and you have the unique genetic pool that is my father’s family.
    Confused yet?
    Let’s continue.
My maternal grandmother’s side is Irish mixed with Pennsylvania Dutch (AKA weird German). My maternal grandfather’s side is a mix of English, Welch, and Dutch –in that order. However, there is a rumor that his last name is actually Hungarian. Finally to round it all out, my sister married a man whose family is from Finland and one of their kids looks like a carbon copy of Billy Idol.
My only disappointment is that that it’s all meat and cream sauce –from a culinary standpoint.
You are lucky to be Italian. The culture, cuisine, and scenery are unparalleled. Do you think your mom would adopt me? (Joking of course)
This strange genetic mess did not leave me fortunate enough to look like Robert Goulet.
Well, it’s late. Attila needs rest; I have heads to roll tomorrow. Take care, my friend.
