  • The Book of Joby
    • Rated 4 stars

God and Lucifer make a wager that balances on a boy named Joby. The wager starts when Joby is 9 years old and has to end by the time he is 40.
I really enjoyed this book because (among other reasons) God, Lucifer, and the angels all act like somewhat normal beings. Lucifer throws temper tantrums. God says he created the world because he was bored and wanted someone to talk to. Also, Arthur and the Roundtable are tied into the story which makes it even more interesting.
I am not religious, but I found myself wishing that certain things in the book could really be that way. But, don't a lot of books make us feel like that - isn't that the point?

  • The Story of the Little Mole
    • Rated 5 stars

This is the best book ever!! It is about a mole who wakes up one morning and has poop on his head. Of course he had bad eyesight so he did not see whodunit and has to go around the farm and ask all the animals if they pooped on his head. All the animals say, "No. My poop looks like this..." And they show him what their poop looks like until he finally finds the culprit. It actually a potty training book along the line of "Everybody Poops." A knew pop-up edition just came out, but of course it is called the Plop-Up edition!!

  • The Wolf King
    • Rated 4 stars

This book is a sequel to "The Silver Wolf." Maeniel and Regeane are married and each are overly protective of the other. Maeniel needs to let Regeane learn how to become a wolf on her own, while fulfilling his own obligations to Charlemagne. Regeane keeps running off after people (Maeniel, Lucilla) because she wants to protect everybody. And, of course, Matrona is sleeping with everyone! I know it doesn't sound that thrilling but, like all of Borchardt's books, it is beautifully written.

This is the first graphic novel I have ever read and it made me want to run out and read more. It was absolutely beautiful; the graphics were breathtaking. The story was taken from The Dark Tower. It is the story of Roland and Susan and how they fall in love and how Roland finds his path. If you are a fan of The Dark Tower, you must read this.

The Za-Lord rules! I love Harry Dresden! He rocks! I already can't wait until the next book! And, now Thomas is getting his own book!! It is coming out around the same time as the next Dresden File book - October, I think.

Most books about Merlin are linked in some way with Arthur or Avalon. Not this book (although I think later in the trilogy Arthur does show up). Merlin had travelled with Jason and the Argonauts when they went to steel the Golden Fleece. 700 years later Merlin and Jason meet again to save Jason's sons - the son's Medea "killed" 700 years earlier. Although, I did enjoy this book, I did tend to get skeptical at some points. Which is really odd since I mostly read fantasy and sci/fi.

Rap and Inos finally find each other and, of course, there is a huge obstacle in the way - Azak. I love this series, it is so unlike all the other series, even though it has elves, dwarves, magic, and all the usual stuff. Must be all the unusual stuff mixed in. I can't wait to read the last book!!!
