Hi,I finally got to read Knockemstiff, and I loved it. Coincidentally, the author of that book, Don Pollock, actually gave my new novel a great review. It's set In New Orleans, and it's been described as a nasty little novel filled with dysfunctional characters who are far from redemption:) It's actually somewhat similar to Knockemstiff in terms of the kinds of people and place it explores. It's available for pre-order from Amazon. Seems like it fits your taste.Anyway, thanks again for the recommendation, and here's a link to a summary of my novel:http://christophertusa.com/blog/?page_id=894Take care,Chris
Woodrell and Pierre are among my favorites. I actually studied with Gautreaux for three years.
That's funny, we read the exact opposite of the McMurtry books. I actually OWN a lot of the 'modern' ones like Cadillac Jack and Desert Rose but haven't read them. Maybe they will turn out to be my favorites too!
Hey Jzine! I love your tatse in books and wanted to know if you'd review my memoir, The Devil, The Lovers & Me: My Life in Tarot. You can check out my other reviews on my website www.kimmiland.com or amazon. I hope you're enjoying your first week of September. xo, Kimmi
