    Hi,

I finally got to read Knockemstiff, and I loved it. Coincidentally, the author of that book, Don Pollock, actually gave my new novel a great review. It's set In New Orleans, and it's been described as a nasty little novel filled with dysfunctional characters who are far from redemption:) It's actually somewhat similar to Knockemstiff in terms of the kinds of people and place it explores. It's available for pre-order from Amazon. Seems like it fits your taste.Anyway, thanks again for the recommendation, and here's a link to a summary of my novel:

Woodrell and Pierre are among my favorites. I actually studied with Gautreaux for three years.

That's funny, we read the exact opposite of the McMurtry books. I actually OWN a lot of the 'modern' ones like Cadillac Jack and Desert Rose but haven't read them. Maybe they will turn out to be my favorites too!
