I enjoy historical fiction, mysteries, science-fiction, and reading books from "soon-to-be-great" authors, i.e., new voices. I have worked in various capaciites in the field of mental health for 30+ years. I'm an ordained deacon in the Episcopal Church since 2002; therefore, some of the books that I read are of a theological slant. I have been... more »

Aw, I didn't want to steal your thunder! But you answered all the questions, so that was awesome!! It's been so long since I've read this book that I don't remember particulars. All I remember is really liking it! Thanks, John!

    Hi John,
Enjoyed looking at the books on your shelf.
Since you enjoy new authors, please take a look at my thriller,"Splattered Blood" it is on the mystery and suspense shelf and has gotten excellent reviews.
What drew me to send this is that you worked in the mental health area for so long. I'm a financial advisor in Ct. and one of my main areas of work was helping Ct. State employees who worked in mental health.

    Hello John,

Dracula: Hearts of Stone (Dracula is a good guy)

We start with a shiny new pot of boiling water and add too many evil vampires, and not enough of the good biters. Toss in one suicidal Dracula; add a cup of mayhem and a dash of romance. Oh yes, and a pinch of mirth. Stir lovingly and you have a novel by A. J. Gallant. If it sounds like the recipe for you then you must read Dracula: Hearts of Stone.

Please check out my author page for excerpts:

Unrealistic or not my writing gives me hope. But with something like 50 000 books published a month it is a little discouraging. I can just picture my book underneath that pile being crushed. I didn’t think there were that many writers out there. Must be a factory out there producing them like peanut butter cookies.

Hi John, just wondering what you think of The Spellman Files. Personally, I enjoyed reading about a main character who was a train-wreck :)

I think I read all of the series...three at least.

    John W,

I agree with you about the half pages. I really don't like it, but that's how another editor chose to do it.

But per usual, I like to add the number of chapters a book has. Even if they are untitled. That's how I usually saw it done. But, it is more of a personal choice to me as well.

Hi John, Hope all is well. Are you looking forward to the release of Winter of the World? It is released in the UK on 18th September and I have per-ordered it for my kindle. Much easier to hold!

    Hello,

Yes, it seems it worked. There is a problem with Shelfari and with some books, when you delete characters added by "Shelfari", they will be added again shortly. I told the Librarians about this problem and they are working on it.

The latest adds to The Help looked good. I was going through them one at a time on Kindle and so far they were all correct. Someone had deleted them earlier and the algorithm put them back. Please give some time on this one.

    Dracula: Hearts of Stone

After eons of darkness Dracula has come into the light. He must emerge from his suicidal hole to help mankind fight the bad vampires that prey on humans. The author Piers Anthony (now a vampire) tries to help him claw his way out, at the risk of his own existence. Meanwhile, a timid vampire named Michael falls for Lauren, a courageous vampire sheriff named Lauren. Even though Michael is frightened of her, he can’t help but pursue the red sheriff.
A 12-year-old girl named Jenny has turned out to be a vampire killer, protecting the innocent wherever she can. But as the evil ones take notice of her, she realizes that she might survive to her teen years.
It’s a tale of romance, fangs and valour.

Georgeanna wrote about Dracula: Hearts of Stone. “Jenny is a serious power for good to be reckoned with and I can't wait to read more about her, Allison, Piers Anthony(yes, the famous author), Michael, Lauren, Boa and Wei, Alexander and Tessy, Moon Diamond and poor Zacharia, and, of course, Dracula.”
