To be honest, I didn't like most of the characters in the book, but I thought that the writing was really good. His use of description really makes you feel as if you are right there with them.
I saw in the What Are You Reading group that you are reading The Screwtape Letters. I thought that was a really good book. And I read I Am Charlotte Simmons last month. I really enjoyed that book, too. Did you ever finish it?

Happy Valentine's Day and may love always be in your heart and mind. Your friend, Skip
hello, how are u doing, can we be friends???
The Jane Austen Book Club was just ok to me. I keep waiting for something more to happen or some profound insight into one of the characters. I have 40 more pages, but as it stands now I would not recommend it.
Books, music and potato salad -- what a great combo!
Hi. just dropping by to say hi and ask if you have had any good reads lately. Have a great day. Your friend, Skip
HI Superb 1? would you like to give me place in your friendlist?
Thanks for the friendship. We definately have 2 things in common. books and potato salad. Visit my web page for my new book. www.skipstover.com. Have a wonderful Holiday Season. I love Richmond also. I used to travel down there and VA Beach area of Hampton Roads.
I saw in a thread from the What Are You Reading group that you are working on I Am Charlotte Simmons. I know it is a 700 pager and normally that turns me off because I like to get through my books at a decent pace, even though that rarely happens. Are you enjoying it? Does it move fast?
Hello ~ I saw your post in the NaNoWriMo group. I managed to get past the 50k but I'm not sure how much of it is even worth keeping. I am serious about writing this story, though, so I'm about to begin a rewrite. How to know if you are good? The only answer I've ever heard to this question that makes sense is to get the whole book written and by that time, you'll "know." That probably doesn't help much :) Glad to meet you!
Welcome to fiction effect, hotfootsteph!I saw Love in the Time of Cholera on your shelf--that's my favorite Garcia Marquez book. Have you read any of his others?-marc
