“The first of Murakami's "Trilogy of the Rat", (w/ Pinball 1973 & A Wild Sheep Chase... although Dance Dance Dance is connected as well), this was also his first novel. While working at his Tokyo based jazz bar, Peter Cat, he wrote this when he was 29.
This book also represents a personal goal to myself; to write 'something' (not necessarily a novel, but SOMETHING) before I turn that age. Haruki Murakami is a constant inspiration and I enjoy reading and re-reading his books.”
