Dear Julibug: I am an author from New England. My debut novel HUNTING THE KING came out in April. I saw that you had several of Dan brown's thrillers on your bookshelf and thought that you might enjoy HUNTING, as well. The story revolves around a charismatic young woman named Molly O’Dwyer. Molly was five years old when she witnessed her mother's death in a fire. She never knew her father. After her mother's death, she was raised on the campus of a Jesuit college in Boston. Now an archaeologist, she is recruited to participate on a dig in war torn Iraq. As a scientist she is compelled to know who or what is buried under the sands of ancient Babylon. As a loyal Catholic, she is scared that what she finds may have devastating consequences for her faith. There is an awesome YouTube book trailer well worth watching to give you an idea of the power of the book. If you get the chance, I hope you'll take the time to watch it and let me know your feelings. Thanks. Peter

Hello, a few weeks ago we were talking about Oprah's book club selections. I have a question for you did you read Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet? I am on the fence if I should pick it up or not. The reviews are mixed. A lot of people love it and also hate it. I would love to hear your take.

Hey Julie. How great is this. Such a wonderful note filled with information. You are a whiz at staying in touch. I haven't written to Elinore in ages. I thought I saw a new book by her as well. I have order 4 copies of Birdie's book to share with friends but haven't gotten them yet. Soon I hope. Are you still busy on Gather. I've been having a hard time keeping up with everything. Am traveling almost every weekend because my husband is working in LA and it is such a long haul for him to get back here -- so we meet in western states several times a month and he comes home several times a month.

Funny you say that. I started reading it and couldn't get past the first page. I will have to pick it up later. I can tell it wont be a book that I really really like. Have you read any other works from the same author like 100 years of solitude? I haven't just wondering if you have.

Hello, I was reading your review of Love in the Time of Cholera. I haven't read it yet but have it in my night stand. I am with you about Oprah's selections I have read a few of hers but I get myself all excited and so many of them are just so so for me. Only one did I really really really like which was Cane River. Anyways it was refreshing to see someone shared my thoughts on her books.

I thought you might be interested in a contest that I’m holding. It’s wacky, creative and ‘killer’ fun.

‘Create a Corpse’ Contest lets you name a character in my next suspense novel Divine Justice. Of course, you guessed it—the character dies. So here’s a great way to ‘kill off’ your boss, or childhood bully. ;)

For contest details, just scroll over the following URL, copy and paste into your browser. This contest is for avid readers who’d like to be part of the process. I’ve been getting lots of entries from my Shelfari friends, and I look forward to receiving yours. :)
