Julia, you mentioned I should check out AAR's The Back Fence for "literary rules". So funny and so true! Let them sneer, those literary types. We romance readers will have much to smile about! *g*

Hi. Thanks for the friend invite. I enjoy Shelfari. It is so nice to have a place to talk about books. I have been fond of books about Elizabeth since I was in high school, which was many, many years ago. I do not believe she solved crimes, but the books are a fun read. I am a very easy reader. If the story is a good read, I am willing to accept the authors "world" and believe it is possible whle reading the story. I just finished The Virgin, which takes place when Elizabeth is about 14. I had the same problem that you mentioned about Elizabeth and Essex. Elizabeth had no reason to trust romance. Not just because of her Father and Mother, but her cousin, too. Also she saw that Cathrine Parr did not profit from marrying the Man she loved.

I enjoyed looking at your shelf. I have read a lot of the books that you have put on your shelf. But I found some authors that I have not read yet.

I enjoyed your note very much.

    Hi Julia!
Thanks for the kind words - I'm hoping to be finished *one* of these days. Actually, I'd be further along on one, if I hadn't realized it needed to go a different route. And today, it occurred to me that I need to alter the hero's character a bit. *sigh* I guess nothing is constant except change.

Thanks! I honestly don't remember where I got that picture. I've had it for a long time. I see you write regency novels. That's awesome. I love that time period!

Thanks for your note. My novel is set in a ghetto outside of Prague called Terezin during 1942-1945. I'm still editing it and hope to shop it by January.

    Nice to "meet" you!

Well. I don't have any books about re-crating the middle ages. The group I beling to is the SCA. The international website is www.sca.org. The local group for me is the Kingdom of Northshield www.northshield.org .We don't re-enact events, we jsut sort of recreate the general atmosphere of the middle ages by having tourneys and feasts and parties. It's a ton of fun. mostly becuse I get to wear cool clothes and be with really fun people.

Hi Julia! Just so you know, "The Courtesan" is in my TBR pile - can't wait to start it! *g*
Right now I'm working on two full-length novels, one a paranormal erotic romance, and the other a chick-lit. I'm a verrry slow writer, but at least I don't have a deadline...other than a personal one, that is. Maybe one day they'll actually be finished - LOL! I put a couple blurbs on my website, www.marychapman.net.
Thanks again for writing - hope to chat again soon!

Thank you, Julia, for the knid comment about the dress! I have not yet read Carla Kelly, although I've heard tons of good things about her. I've read one of your books and I really enjoyed it, It was the one about Belle and jack. I liked Belle. I liked that there were layers to her character that the reader had to dig under to find out who she really was. She was not a pampered ninny and she did what she had to to make a life for herself. Thansk for writing! I've added you as a friend, if that's OK.

Thanks Julia for the Loretta Chase “KNAVES WAGER” tip — shame, shame on me — would you believe I have this book and TWO Julia Justiss’ stories on my TBR shelf! Get reading girl! Like I said “Shame, shame on me —.” And yes, I have read Carla Kelly, in fact I am currently hunting down the highly acclaimed REFORMING LORD RAGSDALE. Thanks again for the reminder!

PS - Don’t you just love this site - hints, suggestions, and discussions – what a fabulous way to discover a new author! MaryGrace.

Thank so much for the invite. I am looking forward to checking out your books at your website and your myspace. I think the P&P photo is from the http://www.bbc.co.uk site. Elizabeth Chadwick is an awesome historical fiction author; my first book was The Winter Mantle, I was so lost in her books it took me back to another time. Her books are harder to locate in the US, she has no US publisher. The few books I have read I find her strong on characterization and relationships. I'm not in a position to pronounce on historical accuracy, but I feel she writes closely to the facts. I easily get lost in her books and am disappointed when they end. Again I look
Forward to checking out your books

Yes, I like Shelfari much better than myspace. Even with broadband, some of the pages take ages to load. besides I find it very intersting to see the books on other people's shelves.
