Hi, I'm Judith!

I like all kinds of books, but I think contemporary fiction is my main genre. I also like a good thriller, science fiction, historical fiction or chick-lit, now and then.

    If I may ask, what is the name of your blog? Is it in English? I'd love to read it if it's about books, lit, etc.

    Hi Judith Ann. It's been awhile since we've been in Readers In Thongs... I've been reading a lot more this year than last, thanks to better health. I hope you are having a good summer. I've kept you on my friends list because I like to see what you're reading from time to time. Take care.

    So far 1/3 in I love it. It is not on Kindle so reading in the lab when I have time. But your friend is right. Some of your book look yery interesting , but they are in Dutch. Ballet Russes (spelling) for instance. I will go back & see what is in common.

    Very much so! I've reached a balance in my groups where almost all of my interests are represented. I get some great recommendations from the members of AA and it's wonderful having a place to rave about Maugham and Waugh.

    Incidentally, while I don't think you can really compare Waugh's dramatic and satirical works, I liked Scoop just a little bit more than Brideshead too. :)

    Someone unearthed an old thread (on Brideshead Revisited if you remember) and I did a double take. I've only been in the group a few months and had no idea you once were! Did you have to drop it at one point?

    Well I stumbled across something interesting today. Am I to understand you were once a member of Anglophiles Anonymous?

    All right, I just feel bad, I think it's possible a winning tag can be picked next week, we have two teams that needed 3 going into this one (your team would have needed 2)

    JudithAnn;

    Just checking something with you. I have 4 tags that were called, some several weeks ago, still open for your team (medieval, education, 2007, magic). I just want to know if I am missing anything. You haven't had any tags called for a couple of weeks now I know, but if these had been read your team would be in first place, but you are in a tie for last. Just want to make sure I am not missing anything.

    Yeah, I just never got around to her. I remember Bean Trees was all the rage when I was in high school, but I was just never interested. Maybe I just needed to grow older before it got my interest? I will read it at some point. I'm not sure I like the premise of The Poisonwood Bible, but it was free and the nurse that gave it to me liked it (I love getting my allergy shots just so I can talk to her about books for 2 minutes--hehehe) so I will read it. I'm all about expanding my reading lately.

    I just got the Poisonwood Bible by Kingsolver from a nurse at the place where I get my allergy shots. I've heard she is a great writer. Can't wait to read your review of The Lacuna.

    Dag Judith
    Hoe gaat het met jou? Ik zag dat je The Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet aan het lezen bent - bevalt het jou? Ik vond er eigenlijk niet veel aan, heb héél veel héél diagonaal gelezen. Ik ben benieuwd wat jij ervan vindt. Oh, en als je binnenkort een tijdje niets van me hoort of ziet: de vakantie komt eraan.
    Groetjes

    Oooo...let me know how you like Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet! I love to read anything about the Japanese American Internment (my mom's family was all interned in Wyoming and Arkansas during the war).
