Hi, I'm Judith!

I like all kinds of books, but I think contemporary fiction is my main genre. I also like a good thriller, science fiction, historical fiction or chick-lit, now and then.

If you like contemporary fiction, I think you'll enjoy the new genre of Boomer Lit! An article on the Huffington Post was just written about it, here:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dianne-harman/boomer-reads_b_3210208.html

I love your blog and couldn't help but chuckle when I read your experience about your hubby's passport not being valid for long enough. It brought back memories for me, and reminded me of the time when I entered Washington coming from South Africa, and was almost denied entry due to one letter being out of place on my passport.

You could write in Dutch, and I will be able to read it as I am also Afrikaans speaking.

    Best regards
    Taniel

I imported via LibraryThing, which isn't as complete as my Goodreads shelves but it made it much easier!

If I may ask, what is the name of your blog? Is it in English? I'd love to read it if it's about books, lit, etc.

Hi Judith Ann. It's been awhile since we've been in Readers In Thongs... I've been reading a lot more this year than last, thanks to better health. I hope you are having a good summer. I've kept you on my friends list because I like to see what you're reading from time to time. Take care.

Very much so! I've reached a balance in my groups where almost all of my interests are represented. I get some great recommendations from the members of AA and it's wonderful having a place to rave about Maugham and Waugh.

Incidentally, while I don't think you can really compare Waugh's dramatic and satirical works, I liked Scoop just a little bit more than Brideshead too. :)

Someone unearthed an old thread (on Brideshead Revisited if you remember) and I did a double take. I've only been in the group a few months and had no idea you once were! Did you have to drop it at one point?
