I can get to Dickson every few months and I keep forgetting there is a Goodwill store there. Hubby checks at yard sales for me but he rarely drives now either. He walked to the library for me and found Glenn Beck's The Christmas Sweater and John Bennett's Book of Virtues. I can't wait to start the Bennett book!

The Christmas Train by David Baldacci was very good. Please try hos WIsh You Well too. Very nice reads. I liked The Alienist even though it was a bit graphic. The Amber Room by Steve Berry was didappointing. The plot sounded good but I found it kind of shallow. I have not browsed your whiole shelf...have you tried Under The Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer? It sounds like a book you would like based on what I have seen of your shelf....

Hi Judi. It's been a while since I've touched base with you. You're quite a reader. I notice that among our "books in common" you have Silas Marner but not Middlemarch. I have to say that although I liked Silas Marner, Middlemarch was for me much more engaging and much more indicative of George Eliot's brilliance and idealism. One of the greats. Reading it is a commitment, because it is rather long, but I see that has not stopped you in the past, since you have Anna Karenina on your list. Rest assured that Middlemarch is far more optimistic and encouraging than AK, and has a truly sympathetic character you can confidently root for through the entire book. I believe it is my all-time favorite novel.

I have good days and a few bad days. I try to stay out of the sun as much as possible but some days it is hard to do so with a Son playing football. *sigh* I just go to games now and pass on the practices.
    Hang in there friend.
