Hello Joshua! You have some great books on your shelf... and I'm excited to see some of Anne McCaffrey's stuff! I am the Admin of the Anne McCaffrey group here on Shelfari and I'd love for you to come and check it out and see what we're about.
    http://www.shelfari.com/groups/43659/about

I would appreciate your input on the books we have already read as a group (The Dragon Riders of Pern Trilogy). We read one of Anne's books a month together to get discussions going and this month is The Rowan. We will finish up March 15th and move onto Damia we go from the 15th to the following 15th.

The group is also talking about a lot more than just Anne's worlds, what else we're currently reading, watching, cooking... doing! Come check out the group and I hope you'll join us!

Let me know if you have any questions.
    Thanks and Happy Hump Day!

Okay, you've officially wooed me back to comics with one word: steampunk[y]. I've added all the comics I remember reading and that are available to add on Sheflari. Yeah, I'm definitely more of an Eastern comic fan. Mostly this is due to the unapproachability of the by-issue format prevalent in the West (I'd rather consume a "lower quality" volume than wait the same amount of time for a "higher quality" single issue). Do you know if either of those suggestions come in a compiled / graphic novel format? (By the by, I'm a pretty big fan of Gaiman, and have been meaning to read the Sandman comics for a while now). Um ... I read a lot of disposable comics in my youth, e.g. Sonic and Archie. Of the more mature series, I was into X-Men (rrrrrrrrretcon action!), Fathom (ugh, fills me with sadness at the thought of it -- the creator passed away from cancer so young) and Meridian (and a few other Crossgen comics I didn't like as much). As for the manga side of things, well, let's leave it for the aforesuggested chat, as I'm much to lazy to type my favourite series and genres all out.

Wow, you've read tons of comics / graphic novels (a medium I haven't really touched in years). Which would you especially recommend?
