Jacque E. Day is a journalist and non-fiction writer, book editor, television producer, and reporter for Western Kentucky's NPR affiliate, WKMS-FM. Presently the graduate assistant for Murray State University's master of fine arts in creative writing program and the assistant managing editor for New Madrid literary journal, Jacque has co-written and/or contributed to a handful of books, including Journeys of Friendship (2005), Science Fiction America (2006), Images of America: Rogers Park (2007), and Images of America: West Ridge (2008).
In her position as a producer for the Discovery Health Channel series "Chicago's Lifeline," Jacque supervised production for the entire life of the show, which earned the Freddy Award from the American Medical Association and TIME Inc. for Best Medical Reality Series. Her producing credits also include the Discovery series "Super Surgery," and a brief (and let's just say it, mind-decaying) foray into motorsports shows for the likes of SPEED, The Outdoor Channel, wherever people go to watch cars crash while guzzling beer. One of her most tender achievements is producer of the short "Baby Time Share," which continues to win awards. Before going into television, she worked in motion picture production, running the gamut from Hollywood features to network television series' to independent films.
Through 2007, she worked as an acquisitions editor for Publications International, Ltd., where one of her primary job functions was to recruit, hire and act as liaison/friend/dinner buddy to authors ranging from working stiffs to national figures. Her titles achieved in this job, mostly nonfiction book projects on history and pop culture, include Civil Rights Chronicle, American West Chronicle, The Golden Age of Baseball, several books about Elvis, and oodles more.
She now lives in Western Kentucky, where she is finishing her MFA and starting life over with the help, love and support of her soul mate.
