I am an author or two published books, A Healing Place and Blessed Are the Merciful, the first published in 2010 and the second in 2011. The first, A Healing Place, is the first of a series of three, and Blessed Are the Merciful is the second. I am currently writing the third and last in the series. They are all historical fiction and take place during the 1930's and 40's. The first starts in the Great American Depression, and ends with the Miller family's son-in-law walking the Death March in the Philippines and imprisoned in an enemy POW camp. The second is about a man and woman who meet in the Philippines before the war. The woman is an American nurse, and the man is an Army soldier. They both find themselves on Corregidor and Bataan, and then are separated after America surrenders to the Japanese. He walks the Death March, and she is interred in Santo Tomas and works with the Filipino Underground. The one I am writing is The Unsurrendered, which involves the men and women who fight behind Japanese lines and aid the Americans when they come back to the Philippines and final victory. There were 260,000 unsurrendered men and women working as a partisan group, and we hear very little about them. I never even knew they existed until I became interested in the Philippines during WWII. I would like to change my status as an AUTHOR on Shelfari. I'm not even certain why it changed to editor. I've never been an editor. I enjoy the group and would like to stay.
I am married to Dennis. We have two daughters and four granddaughters. I was a certified legal assistant. Wrote “The Healing Place” 2010, which went to the Frankfurt, Germany World's Book Fair . It is about the Great American Depression and WWII.
I have also published "Blessed Are the Merciful" in 2012. It is about two soldiers (a female Army nurse and a male Army soldier) who fall in love prior to the bombing of the Philippines in December 1941, during WWII, just nine hours after Pearl Harbor.
