Whilst Crash may be perceived as a perverse book, in which JGB probably wanted it to be, do you truly believe the author was? I think he was merely trying a brave experiment. Things like this (even considered extreme, but not hurting anyone) in art have to be done. I've had a look at some of your books, and it's quite a close-minded shelf, with Crash really standing out.Whilst I myself never enjoyed Crash and didn't manage more than 100 pages, I can really appreciate where it's coming from because I think things like this _need_ to be challenged, rather than writing books that won't offend, won't make us angry, won't make us insane. Your reaction to the book means that it works on that level. It was really well written, JGB has a really powerful command with language and his prose blew me away (albeit in disgust). I think you might want to consider targeting the author themselves in controversial books when they are trying to change the way we--as people--think and react.
