Hey Jordan - are you on the Vampire Romance Books forum?? I haven't been on in a really long time, but I am lovebdb on there. Just noticed it one your page...
Okay, so after I read BDB, I then read the Midnight Breed series just like you, but I gotta tell you, I had to go back and re-read it later, because I thought it was so similar that I couldn't even remember the series! Hope that doesn't happen to you! lol. It sucks to not remember books that you read! Hmm....let's see, I will tell you some of my absolute favorite series - the best I've read so far. My girl Xavia got me started reading more than one series at a time, so now I try to read a vamp series and a shifter series or something else that isn't vamps - that way, the stories don't run together like the BDB and MB did for me.
Okay, on the vamps, the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon is a definite MUST READ. One of my all-time favorites. It has alot in it, and while they are technically "vamps"....well, you'll just have to read it. I have to warn you though, while the first book in this series is really good, PLEASE don't stop, because it doesn't deal with vamps, and I'm not sure why, but it is completely different from the others. Then, we can talk about how bad-boy-sexy Acheron is!! Yummy!! Also, another must read and ultimate favorite of mine is the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. This is the ONLY series that has a female lead that I absolutely love, and the badass vamp Bones is super-hot. The Sentinel Wars series (I think, I'll have to double check my shelf) is similar to the BDB, and is excellent, but so far there is only one book out - the next comes out soon though.
Now, if you want to try some other EXCELLENT series that aren't strictly vamp, I highly recommend the Carpathian series, which is a shifter series. I LOVE this one. I read the Dark Hunter series and then the Carpathian series right after BDB and MB, and they are STILL my favorites. Also, the Feral Warriors series is pretty good, I just finished the third one. One of the best series ever, better than the BDB (*sigh, I know, that's like blasphemy*) is the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter. It is a demon series. I just finished the last one 2 days ago and I'm still having some very nice dreams! *grinning* Okay, last recommendation, since I just overloaded you, would be the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh. I loved this one, but it is different. It is a shifter/psychic (sort of) series, and it's really different from all of the others, so it stands out.
Sorry - I get a little carried away when recommending books! Btw - who was your favorite brother in the BDB? That'll usually let me know how you like the men in your books! Mine was Zsadist and then Rhage, and I tend to like the domineering/bad boy/ tortured soul alphas. If you liked Zsadist, then you'll LOVE Zarek in the Dark Hunter series, as well as Acheron!
I will leave you with those, and if you want to check out my shelf, you'll be able to see a bunch of the others. I usually write a review or at least rate them, so that might help you, but again, everyone may not like the same ones. I think that you will like all of the above though, they are pretty much faves of ALL the ladies in the groups.
Oh oh oh - and if you want to give something a try that's out of the pr genre, PLEASE check out the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon - AMAZING story. It's sounds cheesy to try to explain, but it's about a woman who time travels back to Scotland in the 1700's and meets the sexiest damn scot I have ever thought of - I don't think I'll ever laugh at another kilt for as long as I live!
Let me know what you think if you get to any of the series! I always love to talk about those sexy alphas so drop me a note anytime!
