I'm a Chicagoan, a lawyer, and a self-admitted "book freak." I have been addicted to reading and books since I was a child. To paraphrase John Steinbeck, "When I was very young and the urge to read all day was upon me, I was assured by mature people that maturity would cure this itch. Haha! I never got as far as the part where the bottles began to sing I don't think - if I did then I have clearly erased it from my memory!

Have just finished Chocolat - surely the only word for it is 'delicious'! Brilliant book.

    Hey,
Yes I'm about to start it in the next few minutes actually!
I've read Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris and it's one of my favourite ever books, I then tried Blackberry Wine, also by her, but couldn't get into it - glad to hear this should be a good one.
    Really looking forward to it.

Well it's very impressive! It makes my collection look extremely modest! I suppose in your profession you must have a lot of work-related books as well, my own work-related shelves are growing, although I often have to tear myself away from my other favourites in order to concentrate on studying. I follow my Grandmother's thinking - it is sad that there will never be enough time in life to read all the books in the world... but we can have a very good go at it!
    Happy reading!

    Hey,
'Fugitive Pieces' is the only Anne Michales novel I have read so far, but I will definitely try the one you've recommended.
Is that picture yours?! It looks like my idea of heaven!
