Hey Joey, just wanted to say welcome from the Brotherhood ;)! Do come and play when ever you like!
Have you finished Angel's Blood yet? I absolutely loved it! And the sequel, Angel's Kiss, sounds amazing... I dunno if I like that series better than the Psy-Changeling series but I do like the fact that it revolves around only one couple rather than switching every book. :)As for Moon Caled by Patricia Briggs, I've read all the books in that series so far and I've enjoyed them. I've never heard of Patti O'Shea but I did peek at her books... which series are you reading? The Light Warriors series intrigues me... I might just have to give it a try!And most importantly... have you gotten your hands on the Night Huntress books? Haha, can't wait to hear your thoughts on them!~ Ali ~
Hey,Sorry for the shameless self-promotion, but I thought you might be interested in my new novel, Dirty Little Angels, since it's set in New Orleans (I'm actually from New Orleans, though I teach at LSU in BR). Here's a brief summary:Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape. Here's a link to the first chapter in case you're interested:http://christophertusa.com/blog/?page_id=894Thanks,Chris
Yeah, I absolutely love Jeaniene Frost! Totally agree that Bones is sizzling hot... mmm, you need to get your hands on the second book! And the third book... haha, fourth book comes out this summer I think. I'm so excited! So many new books this summer... :)As for Colleen Gleason, I assume you mean the Gardella Vampire Chronicles? Yeah, I've stilll got that on my TBR... I've got a bit of a predicament now though. I'm running out of paranormal series so I'm trying to find a new genre to branch into... currently trying Historical Romance and hoping I can alternate between the books. But i dunno... i still really, really wanna read all the paranormal series right NOW!Yeah, Nalini Singh's new series does look fantastic... I should be getting it from my library soon! Hmm, as for Alexis Morgan... do you mean the Paladins of Darkness series? That's another one still on my TBR list... need more time to read, ya know? Cause on top of wanting to read all these books I like to re-read series that have new books coming out... aka Kate Daniels, Night Huntress, Tairen Soul, etc. Can't wait to hear from you again!Ali
Rachel Caine Weather Wardens... what do I like about them? Oh man, where to start? First of all, Joanne Baldwin (the main character) is one kick butt chick! There's some romance tossed in, though it's by no means the most important part, and of course the ACTION! That's gotta be the best part right there... it's non-stop, full throttle action from start to finish! The first... oh, five books are absolutely amazing and I absolutely love them! I'd highly recommend you give it a shot... and if you like that series, she's got her new series 'Outcast' starting with the first book Undone. I'm about halfway through that book so far and it's been a wild ride!As for Keri Arthur, it's been a while since I've read those books... I know the first couple were a little repetitive on the sexual scenes, but overall decent. The last couple "cleaned up the act" and brought a superb plot that impressed me. So yeah, I'd recommend reading her books! She's got Deadly Desire coming out fairly soon, the sixth book? I've got it on hold at the library! How bout you? Any new finds lately? I've been so busy with college lately I've been lucky to finish one book a week! Ugh, seriously cramping my style... But one book I'm really excited to get my grubby lil hands on is Magic Strikes, the third in Ilona Andrews 'Kate Daniels' series. Looks like my library isn't gonna order it so I'll have to buy it... *sigh* Might as well buy the rest of the series while I'm at it too! What a shame... :)
P.S.S. Sorry, I'm horrible! If you haven't already ordered the Black Jewels series, I was looking on ebay yesterday and there are a couple lots that have the entire series. Possibly cheaper than actually ordering the books individually if you're a penny pincher like me! Anyways, last note I swear! ... at least until you write back! :)
P.S. Are there really only three books to Christine Feehan's Leopard series?!? Cause they sound absolutely AMAZING! And the third one isn't even out yet... *pouts*
Yeah, I couldn't get my hands on the first dark hunter book - Fantasy Lover - so I read the second one. Then, I got intrigued by other books and now I totally forgot what the second was about! So I think I'll just start the entire series over at the beginning, since my library finally has Fantasy Lover! Is it necessary to read them in order? Just out of curiousity...Oooh, the leopard series is different? Well, well... I might just have to try those out now! Hmmm... I'll have to raid your shelf yet again! Dunno bout the Ghostwalker... I'll look into that series, too. Doesn't Branded by Fire sound absolutely delicious? Mmm, that steamy scene she's got on her website... *fans self* Like I said before, those changelings just make me giddy! The Angels' Blood series looks really, really good also... I'm one of the first people for the hold at the library and I'm so excited! Have you read the blurb? Very, very promising... is it March yet? :)Yeah, I dunno what it was about the Lords of the Underworld... maybe just that I've read so many books revolving around that theme... *shrug* I've got the third book on hold at the library, so maybe that one will change my opinion?Ah, Black Jewels trilogy! Anything good happen? ... what's your definition of good? As in, are there happy moments to offset the angst? Very much so... honestly, there's so much humor throughout the entire book it's crazy. Dry humor, silly humor, angsty humor... As for happily ever after? Eventually, after much emotional turmoil and heartache and angst. Well, it's official... we're in trouble! Why? Two book addicts together = official trouble! :)
I've got the Dark Hunter series and Gardella Vampire Chronicles on my TBR list... As for Christine Feehan, I attempted to read her books but simply couldn't stand them! What's the term people use in reviews? I believe they label the heroine TSTL or 'too stupid to live.' *shrug* An accurate description from what I read of the Carpathian series. Is the leopard series different? Oh, Nalini Singh! Yes, her series absolutely astounded me... my only complaint is that sometimes the "cold" of the Psy race during the romantic relationships got a bit repetitve. Now, when the two main characters are changelings? Like her next book in the series, Branded by Fire? Mmmm, so excited. But overall I absolutely adores the series. For Gena Showalter, the first book I read by her was 'Playing with Fire' and I absolutely adored it - other than the crazy abrupt ending. Since then, I've enjoyed a couple of her stand alone books but for some reason the Lords of the Underworld series doesn't blow my skirt up... it's okay, but I'm not crazy 'bout it.I just finished the Black Jewels trilogy - instantly fell in love. If you don't mind very, very dark themes (rape/torture/etc), this trilogy was possibly the closest I've found to perfection. Quite simply, I haven't read many books where I literally couldn't set the book down - until the Black Jewels trilogy. :)
Sorry it's been so long... busy with life and all that. Lemme answer your question from before... the C.L. Wilson series has a couple "graphic" scenes but it focuses more on the romance aspect than the 'lets get it on.' So... more sighing in bliss than having to fan yourself. *shrug* Not the best explanation I know... that's why I don't write reviews! Haha...Anyways, have you stumbled across any good books lately? I'm currently addicted to... Majorie Liu's "Dirk & Steele" ... Kelley Armstrong's "Women of the Otherworld" ... and Katherine Smith's "Brotherhood of Blood" =^.^=
hope you get everything you desire in the new year...
Oh, you've just gotten into Paranormals too? Awesome, I started at the brink of summer... and I've read 91 books so far! Haha, sorry it took me so long to reply... busy with life! Finals, my birthday, and Christmas... lets just say it's been hectic!Boy oh boy, I went to raid your shelf... you've got so many, I didn't even know where to start! Well, I ended up at your favorites... haha, and I was still astounded! Do you have a recommendation? XDActually, I saw that you have Lisa Kleypas (spelling? sorry -_-') on your favorites list. I stumbled across her on another friends shelf too... I might just have to give her a try! I've honestly never heard of her...Some of your favorites that I recognized (other than SEP of course!) were Kresley Cole! Ah, I've really enjoyed her series... didn't quite make my favorites list, but they were a very good read. Quick question... her MacCarrick Brother series, does it need to be read in order? Cause my library only has the last two books... *sigh*Anyways, one series that I just have to recommend to you... it's Tairen Soul by C.L. Wilson. It might officially be the best series I've ever read, but I'm waiting for the last book to decide that. Think Lord of the Rings romanticized... I'm simply in love. So, if you've got a moment... Can't wait to hear from you! ~ Ali
Hi! You posted on my note for the Susan Elizabeth Phillips group and I decided to peek at which of her books you liked... Of course, first I had to find them! You're shelf is simply AMAZING! I had to resist exploring your books... I have more than enough books on my To Be Read shelf. :)I requested your friendship, but don't feel obligated! Hope you enjoy SEP's newest book, What I Did For Love! :)
I've been reading some of your reviews as I add books to my shelves, and we are so on the same wavelength about a lot of the books.
Me, too;)
Hi Joey,At the moment, I'm up for a new contract with my publisher. I've already submitted a proposal, so now it's a waiting game. Hopefully I'll hear something soon:)
Hi Joey,I'm a little behind on my Shelfari page, but I wanted to drop by to thank you for the kind words about my books:)
I just finished reading Judas Kiss and loved it. I see you have A Virgin River Christmas on your wish list. I like the Virgin River series
Yay!! Great, I am glad I can help. I hope you enjoy it!
