“this is another excellent bus/lunch read. only 116 pages, and number are illustrations -- beautiful water color illustrations, i might add, by Sempe. this is the first of Patrick Suskind's books i've read, and i think i'll be reading more soon. deceptively simple, a sort of grown-up fable.”
“like reading a tv travel show. lots of episodic little adventures with characters, seedy and political, homeless and pimps, the full gamut. no real flow, but a great read if you don't have lots of time to sit down and read all the way through.”
“this is the first mccann i've read, and it was fantastic. ahhh, the language...”
“i loved 'bloodsucking fiends', so i guess i was guaranteed to love the sequel! laughed my way through the whole book.”
“an incredibly under-read book. it's jules verne meets children of men -- not to be missed if you like science fiction and dystopia!”
“a neat concept brilliantly executed. this is for all those grownups who aren't ready to let go of myth.”
