So, true. I started a Flickr account ages and ages ago, maybe years, and have just now added photos with tags and descriptions. I rarely go on the Buzz anymore. I'm too busy writing and doing all those time-consuming summer things with my children. At least you are doing poetry with Second Life. And, I doubt White Dragon would eat Cleo. One of her favorite dogs in the Garden District is Happy, a lovely, sprightly Westie.

I listened to The Reluctant Fundalmentalist when it first came out. It's a very shot book and listening provides an important effect that you don't get if you read it. I'm reading it now because I intend to do it in class in September. I will play some of the novel out loud for the class. When you start reading it you'll see why I say listening to it has value. It's an excellent book. :)

But have you read On Writing by Stephen King? It's part autobiog and part writing manual.

My friend read a Stephen King book thinking she was reading Maeve Binchy. She said she thought Maeve had changed her style rather drasticaly.

I know what you mean, I try NOT to read Stephen King. I almost always dislike his plots, but the writing is so excellent that if I make the mistake of opening to the first page, he reaches up, takes me by the shirt front and pulls me inside! Oh to be able to create characters as he does.
