I felt the same. I found myself really disliking Anna, which is difficult because you know you're *supposed* to sympathize, or empathize, or something, to her situation. Her life forced on her without love. Karenin was one of the few redeeming male characters in the book.
Re: Anna Karenina. I just read the book this summer. I'm curious to know which characters you despised?
