Hey Mr. Palmer. I just finished reading "the shack" and I saw your name in the endorsements and said, "Hey, I think I know that guy!" :) I still haven't read your book... (wince) :) but, wow I was blown away by that shack book! I guess that book is really impacting the world right now; I've just been listening to some of Mr. Young's presentations on podcasts... incredible. My parents (who are in the process of writing a novel) just got back from a small writer's conference here in Oregon where he spoke... they were super blessed. That story is actually set about 50 miles from my house at one of my family's favorite locations, Wallowa Lake. Pretty cool... Hoping to read your book soon. God BLESS!

    Hi, Jim

I just started reading Divine Nobodies. I just spent an evening last week with a friend who sounds like your friend Richard in the book. I am going to recommend your book to him. He is hurting at such a deep level and the only thing I knew to do was cry with him and tell him I didn't have any answers to the struggle.

Thanks for sharing with such honesty. By the way, public libraries have been my safe place for more years than I want to count.

Hi Jim, I have to tell you that when I read the chapter about the girl in the wheel chair, there must have been a lot of dust on the bus that day! My eyes kept watering so badly that I couldn't hardly see the words.

    Dear Jim,

I was browsing your bookshelf and saw a book with an appealing cover that I'd not seen before. It was "Divine Nobodies." I didn't recognize the author but clicked on the "learn more" to read the description and discovered you! I had browsed on your "friend" status off of "earthenVessel." Cool to know you are browsing with the rest of us. I will make sure I get your book! I'll let you know when I read it.

I know, first my website, then myspace, now Shelfari. For a person who never had much use for the internet I sure am spending a lot of time on it keeping caught up with all that's going on.
I saw on one of your comments that you might be having a second book come out? Good luck with that :) I am waiting for my second release as we speak. Though I expected to have advance copies in March, I am now looking at May. Sometimes the whole publishing world can be so frustrating.

What did you think of Philip Gulley's book "If Grace Is True" ? My church group the Weekly Readers, enjoyed it. We read books from Marcus Borg, Bart Erhmann, Elaine Pagels, John Shelby Spong.

Thanks for making me aware of Shelfari (myspace post). I'm going to enjoy using the site not only to talk about books, but get my collection of books organized in the 'read/not read yet and am dying to' catagories. Thanks again.
