“Before reading this memoir I had read two of Ernest Hemingway's books of fiction. I must admit that I never really understood why he was such an acclaimed writer; his prose was so spare and rather matter-of-fact. But since reading his memoir and, subsequently, his thoughts on good writing I think I should give another of his fiction books a try. Perhaps his prose won't seem so spare anymore and rather, as he hoped, each word was the perfect word. ”

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

“I've read many hundreds of books and it's always exciting when you discover a book that is uniquely put together and very well written like "Perks of a Wallflower". Hopefully this book has made it on to all "Required Reading" lists for high school students. I know that I, and many of my fellow classmates, could have used a book like this to help us feel less alone and odd during those horrid high school years.”
