Through some diabolical glitch at Shelfari I ended up with TWO accounts and could only sign in to the newly created one. So I've had to transfer all of my books and, more or less, start from scratch. In the process I've also lost all of my "friends" and "followers". I've tried to get Shelfari to correct the situation to no avail. They keep referring me to Amazon and the Amazon "help" people claim never to have heard of Shelfari. Hope you'll continue to "follow" me at my new location. Gunter

I would suggest Bart Erhman's books to you. I didn't see them on your shelf.

The History Non-Fiction Group is set to read The Linguist and the Emperor: Napoleon and Champollion's Quest to Decipher the Rosetta Stone by Daniel Meyerson for the Jul-Sep quarter. This book discusses the two men whose lives intersected over a love of all things Egypt and led to Campollion solving the mystery of the language on the Rosetta Stone. The book is fairly short - only 271 pages including the Author's Note at the end - and easy to read so it's a good book for the first ever quarterly read. Please join us if you're interested.

Hello Jess, Just thought you'd like to know that, in addition to the paperback and hardcover versions, my book "Weeds Like Us" is now available on KINDLE at www.amazon.com. It's also available on SONY READER. Other e-versions are coming soon! “Weeds Like Us” is a memoir written from a child's point of view about the post-war occupation of East Prussia by the Russians. Best wishes, Gunter

    JessCNY,
Is it Women Read 2010 that you are interested in joining? If so, you need to be my Shelfari "friend" in order for you to get an invite as it is a private group. (It's not because we are snobbish. It's because with fewer members this type of group is more effective.) I will ask you to be my friend. Once you accept, I will send you an invite.
