After I saw the movie, I found out that it was adapted from a book, so naturally I had to get it and read it. The storytelling is brilliant in both mediums. Sure, it's creepy and disturbing, but it is also cleverly told. Most of the time I like the book over the movie. In this case, I like them both equally as well. I liked the movie for the imagery. But I prefered the book for the language and rich detail. I think the two compliment each other very well and loved the sense of irony threaded throughout. I disagree with the poster who said that this was not a book that you would want to read more than once. I will definitely read this book again.
