Don't forget to sign up to pick one of this month's authors over at Author, Author. Check out who we're reading this month, and help us pick for next month. Just find the discussion titled "Sign up to choose February's author" and put your name in the hat.
I really liked Lovely Bones, but the Half Moon was just horrible- at least for me! Are you reading that or Lucky? Let me know what you think.... Life of Pi is very interesting but it is different, and was not at all what I expected...but that is what I like in a book. Good luck finding something new and different.
I just saw that you are looking for a good fiction read this month on the discussion boards...have you read Life of Pi yet? If not, you should try it. That book has so many layers to it, it has been a year since we read it in my book club and we are still discussing it!
Hi Jessica, I am Mitraa, a member of Movie Lovers group in shelfari. I request your friendship and also to join my 'Travelers Club'. Please scan our ongoing discussions if U find them interesting or open an interesting discussion to share a great fun! At present we are engaged in a book-trip to Thailand and an imaginary trip to Alaska ( which is steered by Rhonda, an Alaskan member of this club). There are other discussions like our own experiences, fun, plan and stories on Travel / tour on work assignment!
Best wishes and regards!
I wanted to let you know that I'm going to announce the new tag tomorrow. People want to line up their books in advance of the start of the month, so I said I'd announce five days early going forward. Thank you again for choosing. Can't wait to see what people read!
Oh, and Jessica, I love your choice! Definitely different than what we've done before, AND it will give me a great excuse to read some stuff that's been on my TBR pile for quite awhile. There's a slight chance that we may announce a few days early to give people a chance to get their books lined up . . .I'm not sure . . .but I'll keep you in the loop. Thanks again for choosing the tag for May!
Thanks for participating in Play Book Tag. That's great that you read the Golden Compass. Please go to Play Book Tag and look for the discussion entitled something like "Our Collective Reads for our Shelf". It's currently on the first page of discussions.
Please share what you read, how many stars you'd give it, and if you feel like it, a little bit about how you liked it.
Play Book Tag has lots of activities on it. At the most basic level, you simply read a book for the tag, as you did, and let us know about it, but there's lots more you can do if you are interested. We have a buddy system for new members - - let me know if you'd like me to set you up with a "buddy" to help you get acquainted with the group.
Thanks very much for picking your tag. I'll announce on May 1st that you were the "tagger" and your choice. I'm going to delete your message to me on my shelf because I like to keep it a secret until the announce date :).
Guess what? You've been chosen at random to select the next tag for Play Book Tag! Please let me know in the next 48 hours if you'd like to be the person who chooses. You need not make your choice until April 25th or so as we won't announce it until May 1st. The way the tag is chosen, is you select Explore on the Shelfari menu and then Top Tags. You'll see the top 200 tags there - - you can select any tag you like except for the three we've already done (historical fiction, young adult, fantasy).
So, if you are interested, please let me know by the end of the day on Sunday. If you have any questions, please just let me know :).
Hi, I saw your review on The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down. I would love it if you would join the cultural anthropology group and let us know what you thought about it under the discussion. Thanks. Here is the url for the group: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/23442/about
Welcome to Play Book Tag. I'm so glad you've joined us :). I notice you and I have a LOT of books in common so I'm excited that you've joined our group and have extended your friendship. I see you added The Secret History to your TBR pile. It's fabulous! I can't wait to hear what you think . . .
Feel free to chime in at PBT anytime. Even if you can't read with us this month, we welcome your input on the discussions!!
