Did you love "Haters"? The summary alone makes me want to run out and get the book and stockpile my arsenal. I just checked, and there is a sequel called "Dog Blood". (I believe the sub-title is "This time, it's the dogs' turn.").

I just found a book that seems like it's right up our alley - post-apocalyptic, set in SF! "The City, Not Long After", by Pat Murphy. Also, big bonus for you, I think it's also technically young adult fiction!

Glad to know we're on the same page here. I sort of felt like I was trapped on a vacation with my own hellish family - interminable! Is it just me or did none of the characters exhibit any redeeming qualities? Jesus, it really does remind me of my family -- is that why I didn't like it?!

Reg 'The amazing adventures of Kavalier & Clay'. I've heard so much about this book. Is it worth a read? You seem to have liked it.

Sure! Try Norwegian Wood. Considered his best by many. But I haven't read it. I loved Kafka by the shore. After Dark his latest is good but not extraordinary. I also liked Hard-boiled Wonderland, but it's not as good as Wind-up bird.

Interesting shelf! Do you like Jim Crace? I loved Albee. Do you like him? I agree with you about Oryx & Crake. It's very disturbing. I felt sick for days after reading it!
