It's pretty interesting. It's one of those alternate history/supernatural mashups. The parts where they're talking alot of politics were kind of boring but when they throw in the vampire twists to that it gets more interesting. Like when they are talking about the Civil War and how the South tried to beat the North by secretly enlisting vampires into their army. It's by the same guy that wrote "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" (soon to be a movie!) which is one of my favorite books. I'm almost done with it. It's taken me forever to read it because it's been a crazy few months for me. Only 58 more pages to go!

I would like to suggest reading THE ENDLESS HOUR- The True Story of a Haunted Soul.I completed publication
    in November 2010.

Over eighteen years in the making,THE ENDLESS HOUR is about an illustration I created in 1988 that became
reality two years later, which involves a spiritual death experience.

This touching and terrifying true story is not only about me.It is also about... you.

For more information go to theendlesshour.com. Once you enter the website you can watch the book video and
read reviews. You may also want to visit amazon.com and read the first seven chapters of THE ENDLESS HOUR.

    Thanks,
    Jesse

It was really good. Adventurous, suspensful, and romantic. You can totally tell it was written by a Mormon chick though, because there is no sex because the "men are honorable". You know darn well that if it was the end of the world and humankind was a dying race, people would be humping/raping between pillaging! Honorable men. Ha!

Hey, I'm trying to decide what I want to read after I'm done with the Sookie Stackhouse Series. I'm on the last book. I'm torn between the City of... books or Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series. Suggestions? Oh, and you should try reading Kim Harrison. I think you'd dig them.

Is "Shiver" good? Sounds a little "Twilightish" except girl meets wereworld and falls in love vs. girl meets vampire and falls in love. How is it so far?

It was pretty good. More of a drama than a serial killer thriller like they're trying to build up the movie to be. That is not what it's about. It's about a girl who gets murdered and what she sees going on down on Earth while she's in Heaven.

Young girls have a tendency to like Wuthering Heights, claiming that it is terribly romantic. More expereinced women find it juveile. I am not a woman at all, but I know these things because of the many discussions I've had about the book (with students). I read it as a 48 year old man and found that it started with great promise (almost as if it were written by Stephen King), but the plot never delivered. I found the characters to be weak minded and easily abused.

City of Bones is a good series, but if you're looking for something to hook you in, you might want to look into The Hunger Games, and Catching Fire. Great series, I can't wait for book 3!

Yeah, it sucks bigtime. It's a murder trial. Been there all week and the judge thinks it's going to go into next week. It wouldn't be so bad if I was getting paid by my job. I don't know who I'm going to pay rent or my car.

It's pretty good so far. I just started reading it a few days ago and I'm half way done. It's hard to put down, but this week I am stuck going to jury duty for (ironically) a murder case.

City of Bones was an excellent book. It took me a couple of chapters to get into it, but after that I could hardly put the book down. I couldn't wait to read the next two books in the series after I finished this one. (City of Ashes & City of Glass)
