Oh, I actually highly admire The Counterlife, but then that's a book I read when I was about twenty, so I'm not sure whether I'd like it still if I reread it. I recently read Everyman, which is a much more touching, lyrical and less "heady" book (a "too intellectual" sort of "Alterswerk" by Roth I didn't like was The Human Stain), maybe you could try that one. Or, for descriptive exuberance, there's Sabbath's Theater, even though I'm certain that book's sex-obsessed, "dirty old man" protagonist is not everybody's cup of tea.

I miss creative writing so much. I've been busy lately. I mailed my letter of intent to enroll to Berea, so I'm definitely going there next year. I'm considering double majoring in English and Classical Languages, because I really like mythology and I want to learn latin and greek. But, with the way I change my mind, anything could happen.
I loved Stargirl when I read it and I've read it twice. I found out that he wrote a sequel last year, so I want to read it, too.
I miss London SOOO much. I watch a lot of British television and it's weird seeing the places that I've been. It's starting to feel like a dream, though, because I've forgotten some of the details. You are definitely coming to stay with me in London. Heck, you may have to come stay with me next year at Berea. Hey Jennifer,
I bet you've already read all of my top favorites: ONE FOOT IN EDEN by Ron Rash, SON OF THE CIRCUS by John Irving, CLAY"S QUILT by Silas House, THE MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS by Robert Heinlein, DUNE by Frank Herbert, MY OLD TRUE LOVE by Shelia Kay Adams. That's 7, but it's the best I can narrow it down. Some other recent favorites are Tony Earley's HERE WE ARE IN PARADISE and Karen McElmurray's THE MOTEL OF THE STARS. Those are probably the two best books I've read this year. Good luck finding something!

She lives in a dorm or - trust me - I'd already be down there. Schylar lives there and we talked about moving in together, but ... there's just a lot of stuff about her that I'd have to explain. You'd understand why I don't want to live with her, though.
Jesse may be moving to Knoxville soon, but he doesn't want me in his life anymore. D: Whatever. I don't need his dramaaaa.

ANYWAY. I'm not doing much. This weekend, I'm hanging out with my friend, Rebekah. You'd like her, I think. She just moved back up to Knoxville, after she moved to Memphis, my sophomore year. I'm trying like crazy to get a job, but uhh ... there aren't really any to get. :\
