JenniSimmons

I'm a writer and editor in Texas, married to a drummer, and we supervise two cats. The first book I read all by myself (age 5) was Heidi by Johanna Spyri. I've been a bibliophile ever since. I am using Shelfari to keep track of what I'm reading...

Hello Jenni. For some reason I thought I should tell you that my new ep is available for FREE download at www.arthuralligood.com Maybe its because you love Flannery O'Connor. This is definitely reason enough. Check it out. I think you will enjoy the music.

Hi. I was looking through the adult books on the Celebrate Adoption: Stories from the Heart shelf and see that you have read There Is No Me Without You by Melissa Fay Greene.
I was hoping you'd drop by and add to the discussion w/ your feelings about the book. We'd love to have you join the group too!
    Thanks!

    Hi Jenni,

I've added several titles to the Poetry shelf and started several new discussion threads including a thread featuring daily reads so we that we might discover poets and poems we don't know. Hope you will come by.

    Hi Jenni,

I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird this weekend for our book group next week. I actually own the movie- I love it! Gregory Peck was amazing in it! I see you have Ava's Man on your shelf. Have you read All Over But the Shoutin' by Rick Bragg? I really liked that one. Have a great weekend!

    Hey Jenni,
This is Matt's friend Shaun. I read "Cash by Cash" but wondered about Steve Turner's Cash Bio. I read a review of it by Steve and it sounded real interesting. What did you think. Also have you checked out Preston Jone's collaborative book with Greg Graffin (bad religion)? It's really good and is a series of e-mails between friends about Naturalism vs. Christianity. It's called "Is belief in God good, bad, or irrelevent? Lastly my wife's father writes something called "Critique" through a ministry called Ransom Fellowship. from everything I've heard I think you would really enjoy it.

    Cheers!
    Shaun

hey jenni - i see you have Paul Zahl's book The Collects of Thomas Cranmer. Have you read any of his other books like A Short Systematic Theology or The First Christian??? He was the reverend at my church for many years and he is so interesting and intellectual. He is now the Dean and President of Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry and if you go to that website, you can see some of his book and movie pics that are very interesting. He sees Christianity in places the rest of us miss. Enjoy!

Welcome to Shelfari! You've got some great books. I noticed you're reading "Hope in the Dark"--I've never heard of it, but the cover intrigues me (yes, I'm a sucker for marketing ploys). Do you recommend it?
