I read fairly indiscriminately. I will start almost any book, but I have no problem stopping in the middle (or even earlier) if I need to. This list includes books read for both fun and edification, and the chapter books I read outloud to my son. (I'm not, however, including the gazillions of picture books.) I use entirely too many parentheses.

Isn't "Murder Must Advertise" so much fun? It's exactly like the ad biz now--nothing has changed. Just found out-while Dorothy Parker worked at an agency, she came up with the famous, "Guiness is Good for You". Neat!

Hey ma'am-Head's up-- "Year of Wonders" is only so-so. It's a quick read but just OK. Just helping manage expectations! Happy New Year to y'all. Hope your leg is better.

Glad you liked Blankets so much! Isn't it awesome? His other books are not *as* fabulous but definitely worth reading. Also, you might like "Epileptic" as well--different author but another autobiographical graphic novel. Oh, and "Fun Home", if you haven't yet. Incredibl.

Yeah, turns out the Titanic is not a very happy story...I hear some company is recreating the voyage. Sounds like a load of fun.
Sent you an email about visiting end of June--then we can talk books in person!

Thanks for the recommendation a bit ago-it's on the shelf! I'm working on a Titanic exhibit at the Science Museum right now, by the way.
