Happy Reading from Nicaragua! A Korean-American living in Nicaragua as a missionary with 3 kids, teaching 20 Kindergarten kids who bring joy and stress at the same time. Reading helps me escape from so much injustice I see here, yet it is also a passage to hope.

Dear Jen- I think we made a connection here! This is so exciting- I have read so many of the books on your list, and loved them- Water for Elephants, The Bronte's, of course, Anais Nin (though it was years ago), Tom Sawyer...let me see if I can add to my shelf and you can go to it...

Thanks for the recommendation. I am reading Main Street right now but will add it to my wish list to include on my next book order. Feeling a little low these days and missing home. I'm tired of being a foreigner and not knowing where to go to get things. Also tired of living in temporary conditions without propper furniture which is still months away from being delivered to the apt. I am not loving the school either - the three older kids are all feeling defeated by their teachers instead of encouraged. Miss you - wish you were here!

No ideas yet....we keep throwing around ideas and nothing....but we debated over Jamie's name for a while, too.

Jennifer, Finished The Road and was hugely disappointed! I don't recommend it. You can read my review on my book shelf. SAVE YOUR MONEY and your time.

Hey there! We love TN. Jamie is doing very well. It's hard to beleive that she's 18 months! The pregnancy is going very well. I had a battle with all day sickness the 1st trimester, but as soon as that was over, the pregnancy has been great. We are having a boy! He is due Feb 5. Jong is so excited. WE miss you and love you guys!

Jennifer - I haven't read The Road yet. On my shelf, I have rated with stars and reviews all the books that I have read. All the unrated books are the ones that I just received in my last book order from US that I am planning to read over the next months. Hopefully I won't plow through them too fast. I just finished The Lost Painting today so I'll start on The Road next and let you know what I think. Rita

    Jennifer,
Do you need some suggestions? I am part of a book group in DC and have loved some of the recent "assignments". Try Eat Pray Love - an easy mid-life crisis read!
