Jenclair...As I teacher, In the Middle was one of those books that had a dramatic affect on me. I thought I would click on "what others say" to see how it impacted other people and just finished reading what you wrote. I'm amazed at how much we have in common. I also taught eighth graders for many years. In fact, I just left middle school this year to work as a Reading Specialist at the Elementary level. It is a nice change, but I'll always have soft spot in my heart for eighth graders. I had to laugh when you said you like to golf, but stink at it. Same is true for me. Also, I am a big Oprah fan...TiVo it everyday just like you. We part ways with the cooking. Perhaps I'm just a little "cooked-out" since I spent many hours behind a stove while raising our five children. I enjoyed reading your profile and hope Atwell made a difference for you as she did for me. Rita K.
Dear jenclair: If you enjoy an adventure that will take you far far away, please read my new novel, HUNTING THE KING, coming in April.
HUNTING THE KING is a fast-paced page-turner that follows archaeologist Molly O’Dwyer into war torn Iraq in search of the remains of Jesus. ForeWord Magazine says: “Fans of intellectual thrillers and historical fiction will find a worthy new voice in Clenott. His best invention may be Molly O’Dwyer, a genuinely likeable heroine who more than holds her own in a man’s world. An ambitious scientist, she is also an observant Catholic whose heart and mind don’t always agree. Given such an auspicious start, the sequel can’t come too soon.”
To get a good sense of how powerful the book is, check out the heartpounding booktrailer on YouTube or on my web site at www.peterclenott.com. It is like watching a preview for an exciting movie. The novel is equally exciting and controversial.
While it isn’t out until April, you can find it on Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Kunati Books. I hope you’ll take a look. And let me know what you think. Thanks. Peter.
