Started a book club with my friends over 10 years ago! That means that I at least read one book a month, but I should read more instead of getting sucked in to watching reality tv and sitcoms! Recently married and we have two cute but pesky cats.

Although I didn't love the book, I have to give credit to Jennifer Weiner. We invited her to my book club and she actually came (this was shortly after the book came out) to discuss the book. Very cool.

I'm glad this book was published...even if Truman didn't want it published. Although it could've used some polishing, I thought the story really through you into the world of a girl in 1940s (?) New York. Loved the ending...I didn't see it coming.

I bought this book while I was honeymooning in Prague. I wanted to understand what life was like there before the fall of communism. An incredible book that illustrates what everyday life was like for woman under communism--from food shortages to unavailability of feminine products! Very personal, sensitive and funny!

Just got back from Berlin and I was inspired to learn more about life under communism. This book is translated from a bestselling German book. It's written by a woman who was just 13 when the wall fell and living in East Germany. Very well written and gives you a glimpse of what life was like before and after communist rule. If you liked the movie "Goodbye Lenin" you will enjoy this book.
