I'm too lazy to look through your shelf. Have you read any Pearl Cleage? I think you might like What Looks Like Crazy on an Ordinary Day.

Hey BOOOGIE wassup gurlfriend!! LOL! I read your comments in DW. You are hilarious.

So you know Mr.Randall Kennedy? A conservative huh? He didn't sound like it when I heard him talkin on the NPR program Tell Me More. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=106855628

Maybe there are 2 of him?? LOL! If you still have your reveiw I'd love to read it.

I read Women Who Run With Wolves about 13 years ago. It was a parting gift (although I didn't know it at the time) from a boyfriend who was about to dump me. LOL! Po' me. He also gave me Terri McMillan's How Stella Got Her Groove Back (Ah!). LOL! I sho' do know how to pick 'em. He and I actually still friends. . .He introduced me to Walter Mosley as well. Me and Mister Mosley have been best freinds eva since. I love me some Walter Mosley!

I'm glad to see you back and active here in Shelf country.

Hi Jboogie. I don't seem to be able to post on DW, I don't know why. I know that at some level there was a racist angle to Prof Gates arrest...that it go that far for him to be arrested is a symptom of that. And here in London I know that the Caribbean black population is viewed with some suspicion [ along with Muslims of whichever colour!] so I know that 'profiling' is real enough.

I left a comment under your review, but don't know if anyone ever sees them, so here I am.

Why didn't you tell me about Push!

I started it last night, read half. Will probably finish it as soon as I get home this afternoon. It will be a mean feat to keep me from reading it before I finish reading thesis drafts! My GOD, what a powerful read!

What else have you been holding out on?

I am absolutely available to you if you ever need any crim law questions answered! My office number is 646 386 4745 and my cell is 917 353 3760. Seriously, don't hesitate to call if you need anything.

I know Heights Books. I used to stop by every so often when they were on Montague. Haven't visited their Smith street location. Although I'm ashamed to admit it, I really like Barnes and Nobles because it is just more roomy and comfortable than most small bookstores. I still support independent bookshops but I spend most of my time at Barnes and Nobles because its got space for you to spread out and read. I hear that the new and improved Strand has become a more comfortable place to hang out but I haven't checked it out yet. You?

    Hey Jboogie,

    How are you doing?
I responded to your post about reading Kindred on NP! I am so happy that you enjoyed reading The Living Blood. Tananarive Due is one of my favorite authors. I am reading Blood Colony, and enjoying every page as the saga of Jessica, Fana, and David continue in her novel. I love stories about vampires, family, supense, and the cutltural aspects of Due's writing style.

Thanks for the lip gloss tips! I plan to treat myself to some new lip gloss for spring and summer. I think the shades that you recommended will work well for me. I feel so behind on Shelfari. I've spent whatever free time for surfing the web on Facebook and Nappturality. I totally abanandoned Shelfari in the past few months. Hopefully, I can make time to join some of the discussions here on this site. I am reading along with Blood Colony Act Like Lady by Steve Harvey. I finished Midnight and I cannot wait for Sister Souljah to write a sequel to the book. I still have Trumpet on my radar because it seems like such an intersting story. I have a Borders gift card burning a hole iin my pocket, just waiting for the perfect next read, so many books so little time. I guess that's why you have to keep your lip gloss poppin!

    Peace & Bless

I'm going on a search for Trans Plant and Decorative lip gloss! I love MAC and I have not had any in a while since trying to live like a Reccionista (LOl)! Have you bought any new earrings? I have a pair waiting on hold for the right outfit!

Dude, with a review like that, maybe I should muster up my creepy-courage and give The Living Blood another try. Or wait, was it The Good House that creeped me the frack out?

it is nice here, still short pants weather, but a little nippy tonight. we went to city place after dinner and had to park on the 5th floor roof, and the wind was a little cold there, but it was fine down in the plaza, but these rich palm beach folks kill me, the place was body to body, dont nobody know we get a recession on?

anyway, i would love to have a cup of coffee with you in april, i am trying to organize my mamas 80th next month! i thought your granny still lived in riv bch, but nigheve says you are looking after her in NYC?
wow! hope you are well, glad to read on your mac and cheese that you have somebody in the day for her. cant help but laugh, though i know it is heart breaking. we used to go stay with a beautiful older couple when i lived in alabama. we would "sit" them so there middle aged children could have a few hours rest. he was ninety and feeble but sharp, his wife was healthy as a horse at 80 something, but hid her underwear in the freezer and all sorts of unusual things, but they both could play spades like machines... I oved those sunday evenings, but i have a taste of the challenge you and your granny are up against. lean on your friends.

    Hey Jboggie,

    How are you doing?
I wondered if you enjoyed reading the "Living Blood?"I started to read it earlier last year, but I had to put it down to read Sister Souljah's book "Midnight." Also, I wondered if you had any new lip gloss recommendations for the spring?

    Peace & Bless
