cool shelf!! And thanks for the recommendations. I saw you've read Small is Beautiful by E.F. Schumacher and marked it as your favourite! I haven't read it yet, but am planning to in the near future. Have you read Guide For The Perplexed by him as well? I loved that one. So insightful.

    Hey J -
Thanks! I try and find as much time to read as possible.
It's a shame you don't get to as much as you'd like to.

    Hi Jay,
I'd been following you on shelfari for awhile, you seem to be able to give good recommendations. :)

I am tired of adult fiction these days -- adult fictions all seem to have a taint of pessimism to it, maybe that's what they call "life".
I want something for children, very cute, fluffy with lots of love, maybe talking animals and some magic -- but something that takes at least an hour or two to read so I won't finish it too quickly. Somewhere along the line of Charlotte's Web or James and the Giant Peach, any ideas...?

Hi there again! Sorry about the overly late reply! ].[ There's many places I'd love to go in the US (I have quite a few friends over there I'd love to meet). I especially want to visit New York. One of my friends has just got back from there and I'm a bit jealous! It's somewhere I've always wanted to go. But really, I just want to go everywhere. I've heard a roadtrip is a good way to see America so who knows!
How was your trip home? Are you back in Australia or somewhere else now? :)

Hi; thanks a lot for your recommendation, this book is definitely on my "To read" list!
Always very nice to hear that somebody decides to learn Russian. There are so many authors that I love, I can not even pick one. Kaverin with his best-known novel "Two captains"; Strugatsky brothers; as for the classics - Pushkin, Lermontov...
Reading Hesse in German was one of the hardest things I have ever done, took me a while to finish his "The glass-bead game"; but it was well worth it.
Do you have any recommendations for NZ literature? I have just realised, that I have a huge gap in it. I read "The whale rider" by Witi Ihimaera, but that's pretty much it. What a shame.
    Peace, love, books,
    Tatiana.
