Hi Jandante,l souds amazing. I have a Book of Hours with illuminated pictures and the beginning letters. the Book and Church Services, Liturgy and Ritual sounds interesting also, as the peregrinatio travelled the world with their little book of rules, including the Litany of services. Here was a single-minded search for God, leaving their family, friends and country -- to be free for God. Some put to sea without knowing or caring where they were going but left it to God to guie them (891 Anglo-Saxon Chronicles)Others left for remote, perfect islands to search and meditate in Gods service (Skellig Michael) building their little beehive cells 700ft above the Atlantic. Later the priests at different Alters within the church to raise the bread and wine so everyone could see, as the monks and the main alter were still shut off from the public Though the rod gate became more open in design for the public to witness the mysteries. fascinating. stuff. peace and joy be with you.

see you have been busy on the book front. I like the title of one of your books the medieval imagination, this is very interesting to me as I would like to know what it says about dreams and /or the use of dreams, as dream poetry is very prevelant up until Elizabethan times with Spenser's The Faerie Queene. The Kite Runner was brilliant also. happy reading
