I didn't like the personality the main character had. She didn't want to take care of herself. She said she wanted to change and lose weight the entire book, but then she would eat ice cream and a whole pizza.

I absolutely loathed her parents and almost stopped reading the book because of them.

The story of Wachiwi was more interesting then that of Brigette. I wish Mrs. Steel wrote more of the Native American's story rather than the other girls.

For once, I have to say the movie is a lot better. Why someone would be friends with a character like Darcy is beyond me.

Who by Fire: A Novel (P.S.)

The last few chapters were easily the best part of the book. It was beautifully written and it flowed easily. The first half of the book went by slowly and it was almost painful to read.

Sayre Bellavia recieves news that her drug and alcohol addicted mother is dying. As she journeys to the hospital, Sayre reflects on the life she had because of her mother's choices.

This is one of the better noveles that Laura Wiess has written. It contains a strong subject matter but she pulls it off flawlessly. Her words flow easily and paint a picture of the life this girl had to go through. You cheer for her and cry for her. Ms. Wiess creates such realistic characters that you feel as if they are real and apart of your life. Reading this novel, you ask yourself countless times "Why?" Why is her mother not trying to change? Why is she so selfish? Why does Sayre keep trying?

    SPOILER!!!

My one problem with the book was the closure Sayre got. Sayre never got the explanation she deserved. She only gets a "sorry" and she's ok with it. The entire novel builds up to Sayre trying to find out if her mother ever loved her and why she treated her this way, and all she got was a sorry.

I think this is one of the better books that Sara Shepard has written. It's fast paced and a complete page turner. She adds her signature cliff hanger at the ending, but this one doesn't make you want to tear your hair out asking what happens next.

This book is labled as a graphic novel. "The Night Bookmobile" is written and reads like a children's book. However, the ending is far from a children's book and is horribly written. The ending seemed rushed and it seemed like a cop out.

"I read once that water is a symbol for emotions. And for a while now, I've thought maybe my mother drowned in both"

And so begins this amazing debut novel by Jessi Kirby. The story follows Anna Ryan as she moves to a new town with her newly promoted father after the death of her mother. We read as Anna comes to terms with her mother's death and grows as a person.

I thought this book was beautifully written and a refreshing addition to a fieled of books that are filled with supernatural elements. The book gave off a Sarah Dessen vibe and was written just as well. I couldn't put this book down. This book is story telling at its finest. For a debut novel, I only expect better things to come from this author.

I literally laughed out loud at some of the quotes in this book. I thought the tweets were funny and this was even funnier.

This novel follows the Sara Shepard recipe: start the story off very slow, and right when the reader is ready to quit, pick up the pace and introduce the climax. She then love to finish off the story with a cliffhanger ending that forces you to pick up the next book so you know what happens. Then the vicious cycle of the Sara Shepard recipe repeats itself.
