I'm a student whose trying to balance school and creating a life. I'm attempting to be a more avid reader with the goal of 4 books a month. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't. I'm also trying to write, both more often and of greater quality.
I've always been able to look to reading as something to do and it's always been something I've... more »

I found it a little too dark and morbid for my taste. I notice that you read a wide variety of books and don't have any stereotype. You might try it if you want but it is not something that i would really recommend.
Coincidentally.........i try to read 4 or 5 books a month. Some months i make it and sometimes i don't but i keep at it, no matter what!!!
If you know any good reads (check my shelf) and do suggest.
    cheers

Hey, you asked about The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I can't necessarily answer whether you should read it or not by a yes or a no. Instead I'll tell you my experience.

I read the first chapter and I was intrigued. Then I turned to the second chapter and I got seriously bored. Each continuing chapter was a hardship, I seriously didn't care about the girl. Then about page 160, I found the point where everyone else was raving about. This part of the story was interesting. But unfortunately you have to get through the beginning of the story and deal with all this girl's issues and the background story.

I won't be reading the rest of the series because the first tended toward tedious. But once I got the first chapter to connect with the story it was really interesting and I'm glad I read it.

There is a lot of abuse toward women in this story, so if you don't want to read a lot of that kind of stuff, don't read it at all.

Hope my experience with it helps.
