My name is Iris Bolling. I'm the author of, "Once You've Touched The Heart" and "The Heart of Him". My passions are reading (especially romance novels), writing, sports and politics. When I discovered AA authors not to long ago I lost my mind. I went to my library and borrowed so many books, the Liberian thought I was crazy. I went back two... more »

This is one of those books that make you stop and think. Pamela Samuels-Young has told a story that is intrigue and terrifying. I don't want to give to much away, but how would you handle being arrested for murdering some one you hated and wanted to see dead, but you didn't kill him? That's just one of the emotional roller coasters in the murder/mystery. I would recommend this page turner to anyone that loves Law and Order, The Practice or any other police drama.

RAW Rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

When Jeffrey “JD” Harrison first met Tracy Washington, she was the college roommate of his younger sister. The effect she had on him was unsettling, but he considered her too young. Years later, they are reunited as JD takes a case, as the District Attorney, that involves her brother. This time he takes the role as Tracy’s protector and eventually, her lover. JD is a womanizer and Tracy has no experience in love, but, despite several odds, they manage to build a relationship that most folks only dream of.

I found it hard to believe this is the first effort by Bolling. ONCE YOU’VE TOUCHED THE HEART is very well-written with attention to detail. That may have been the only flaw with the novel since the minute details made for a lengthy book. Nevertheless, the characters are three-dimensional, the plot is well-developed and the action is non-stop. Readers may pick this one up thinking it is your average romance, but it is so much more. Bolling is following with a sequel, which I will be adding to my book pile.

Ms. Jenkins and Bernadine Brown raised the bar in this historical, hilarious heart-warming tale of the ripple effect of sharing blessings. Ms. Jenkins superbly tells the story of Bernadine receiving a new lease on life when she catches her husband with his secretary. Not only does she receive her freedom from a man that has stifled her, but a huge divorce settlement as well. After she has traveled the world, she comes across a news article about a little town, Henry Adams, with a wealth of African-American history that is in need. In her previous life, she worked as a social worker and knew there were children in need of help also. She combines the two. The result of bringing street smart, shattered children into this town with no internet, cable, or cell phone service is hilarious, heart-warming, and educational for all. Bring on the Blessings will leave you searching to find a way you can be a blessing for some in need. I'm not a person to do many reviews, but there was no way I could not tell anyone that listens about this soon to be epic novel. Oh, did I tell you about Cletus? You would not believe me if I did. You would have to read about him for yourself. I look forward to reading more about the Bottom Women's Society; I need to become a member. I would love to share this book, but my sister's I just cannot part with it. You got to get your own. Pick this one up to find your blessings.
