Contemporary fiction really grabs my attention and sometimes I love a good crime novel. British authors and especially Scottish ones are always worth a look, I find, but of course, authors from all over the... more »

Hi Kari, I live in Pittenweem and work in St Andrews. Will certainly bear in mind your kind offer to lend me books! I'm afraid most of my reads for my challenge have been borrowed already *blushes* but I do have all the Jeffrey Deavers and Harlan Cobens if we ever manage to get together for a swap.

Not me Kari - sounds good though. Mind you the only reason that kind of book appeals to us is beacuse we have narrowly escaped that kind of lives ourselves!!!

    Hi Sis
hope all is well with you. Just bought the new Torey Hayden book 'somebody else's kids'. Was quite happy till I thought; Mum and I used to read them and this is the first one she'll never read...burst into tears in tesco...! Silly me! All is well here. We decorated the study at the weekend it is no longer foul orange with golden diamonds stencilled. It is now a quieter shade of beige. I am rather pleased with it....!
Take care - hope you're not too tired.

Sorry, just got your note now as i never check my mail on this website. Yes, its great reading books by women and i'm glad you feel the same. I see your a bit of a Mcwean fan? I've only read one by him.

Perhaps we should make a list of books we both have enjoyed reading over the years.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Kari, I have been busy retiring from my 30+ years as a librarian and (of late) professor. Thanks for your last message. I just took a short printmaking course. The teacher was great. And, there were only 2 of us taking it! I paint in watermedia and do just a little ceramics.

I just finished reading John Nichols' Milagro Beanfield War. I think that you might like it; I really did. But, read a little of it in the library or bookstore first, please, because I am not sure that everyone will. Now I am continuing reading Sheehan's Bright Shining Lie. I will get back to you about a fiction book that I think is going to be wonderful. Do you have any digital pics of your prints? I'd love to see them. I have to photograph my more recent work and will be glad to share that when I have it.

    Take care, and happy autumn!
