    I've just finished Never Let Me Go, its tone is nostalgic and sad in the end. But i appreciated the author's take on humanizing the medical topic on cloning. It is more about human relationship and society as the author conjure the scenarios about clones being common in our society. Unique one.

    Shadow of the Wind is still on my TBR which grows by leaps and bounds with some of the wonderful Groups I participate in. I'll have more time for reading after the middle of January, I've put in my retirement notice and I'm looking forward to it - at the same time, it feels weird to be leaving. Perhaps I'll get to Shadow soon.

    I noticed on W McBear's page that you were wondering if Pale Horse, Pale Rider is worth reading. YES. The title piece (a novella K.A. Porter insisted is a short novel) is my favourite of Porter's writing and is, in many minds at least, one of the great pieces of short fiction of the 20th century. Just glancing at some of the other titles on your shelf, I think you might agree.

    I am in Maine, west of Portland, halfway between the ocean & the mountains. [been in this area since 1962 , NH & MA before that]
