    another p.s.!!!
I know you've read Christopher Moore. I just finished You Suck! I really thought it would have made a better comic book. Maybe it's not "my cup of tea" but what are your thoughts on his other books?

Check out Timothy Deary's books and the Horrible History books will be listed there. Thanks for the tip on the book about Denmark. I love books that tell something not widely known. My favorite teacher was an 8th grade History teacher everyone else hated and dreaded because she was soooo strict but she knew how to teach history. On the other hand my 11 year old had a teacher in 3rd grade who I had to prove George Washington's teeth weren't made of wood!!!! I know we live in Kentucky but the boys go to a pretty progressive school!!! How old is your son?

p.s. Have you ever seen the "Horrible History" books? They are more for kids but they are a hoot and still full of facts that make it fun to learn.

    Hi,
What did you think of How the Irish Saved Civilization? I noticed it for the first time and thought it looked interesting.

Hello, finished the book and I loved it. Of course it has detective and Italy as main subjects, so not much possibilty to get it wrong for me! I love books by Robert Harris, Last week I finished Pompeii and thought it was great. Also read archangel which was good too. Thanks for recommending Robert Graves. Haven't heard about him yet, but going to look it up. Now Maya and My life by Bill Clinton but have a feeling that I am gonna start another one today.
By the way, from where are you?:-)

    Hi Ingrid
It is true, Bruges is a nice palce. By car I live about 30 minutes from it but don't go often. Want to go one day and discover it, not jsut seeing shops but go in the tower on the market place and see historical buildings, go to museums, ...

    Hi there,
At the moment I am living in Belgium but when I amliving abroad I am almost always in Italy with my boyfriend. He is from the region Emilia-Romagna, near the Tuscan border. I lived a year in the North of Italy, which was for now the best year of my life. I am in the north of Belgium for six months, near Bruges and Ostend. For the last 3 years I was living and working in England and for now I am jsut waiting till it is July. Where in Belgium did you go?

    Hi Ingrid,
I saw you have a couple of books on your shelves written by Steven Saylor. Do you know if they have to be read in a certain order or not?
Looking at your books, you seem to like travelling or am I wrong? :-)

    Hi Ingrid,
Yes, you definitely should read Silk. It's a short, but very, very sweet story about love. I like your shelfs! There's a lot of history books on it, specially about the World War 2, which I want to read. I would like it if you would be my friend. Greetings, Monique

I'm pretty sure there isn't a part II to Shantaram. I wrote the Shelfari moderators when I saw it listed. There's a part II in the book and I think somebody got confused. Okay, you've convinced me on KiteRunner! Actually I'm more inclined than ever to read it now especially since I'm enjoying Shantaram so much. I think you would like James Clavell's books too and I didn't see on your shelf if you have read all of Pat Conroy's books. They are very good and all are somewhat autobiographical. Prince of Tides and Water is Wide are my faves.
