My love of reading started in 1st grade, I was taken out of class and put in the slow class. I was assigned a teacher for special one-on-one reading sessions, starting with Dick and Jane books. The teacher loved reading he had glasses and silver hair and was six feet tall. He inspired me.

A few months later, they finally discovered I was not slow, I just needed frickin glasses! (makes ya wonder WHO was the slow one!)

Now wearing glasses, I returned to the class, walked in, everyone laughed at me, crying I ran out. But that's another story... « less
