My mother was a librarian so we were exposed to books as soon as we were born. I'm the youngest of 4 children so by the time I was aware of the world, my siblings already had their own book collections going on. I grew up reading Dr. Seuss and I discovered Roald Dahl when my mom left me in a bookstore when I was 7 while she got something from the grocery store next door.
I've always loved books with pictures. I love art and I love words. Graphic novels are great. So are illustrated children's books. I love them all.
I do read a whole lot of other kinds of books. Whatever I come across something that looks interesting, I read it. We've moved recently to where we are now and the one best thing about this new place is the library. I love the Urbana Free Library!!! Woohoo!!! It's heaven for a bookworm. I'll be very sad to leave it when we'll have to move again. But that isn't for years and years yet so I'm making the most out of our time together.
I'm dabbling in drawing these days. It's a great time-filler.
Oh, being the optimist that I am, having defective lungs gives me a lot of opportunity to sit quietly and read. Of course that takes me away from my kickboxing or even leaving the house, but well, at least I get to read a lot. Can't complain then!
