A fun read about American history. It contains interesting insights, not just the same tired and often incorrect stories presented in most history textbooks.

I find that the title of the book itself is misleading. The only real "haunting" addressed is that of the Bell Witch of Tennessee. The book mainly focuses on the Spiritualist movement of the 1800's, prescient visions (such as those by Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, etc.), and other "paranomal" events as such.

I also found the book to be poorly written/edited. At one point, the paragraphs within a section were so disjointed and incohesive that I looked to see if my copy of the book was missing a page.

First third of the book was fantastic, then the whole thing just falls apart. Almost like 2 separate writers wrote this one!

Definitely not as interesting as Clark's earlier books.

Russian mob, stock market espionage, AIDS... I normally wouldn't be interested in a book that had these as major plot points, but this was different. The plot came together, though at times it was a little confusing, and ends with a satisfying conclusion.

The second in the Heather Wells mystery series, this book continues the saga of the former pop star and present-day dorm assistant. Like the first, the blend of chick lit and mystery is just right and the characters are terrific.

Great combination of mystery and chick lit! I love Heather, a former pop star turned dorm assistant. Her knack for falling into a mystery makes a great read.

A wonderful collection of true crime stories from Alaska. Definitely makes you think of Alaska in a different way!

This book is a classic! The movie, while good, can't hold a candle to the book. Berendt's experiences in Savannah and the cast of eccentric characters, as well as its underlying true crime, makes you want to read this book over and over again.
