I am heading in a new direction with my reading. Or should I say an old one. I have already read some historical fiction and a few classics and am back again. For years, I read non-fiction history and I think I need a break.
Mostly, I get my books at the library these days, since I usually don't buy novels. Most of the books I own are non-fiction, my son's childrens books, and a few classics.
I am married and our son is in college. I am a stay at home hobbyist. I enjoy making home made cards which I donate most of them to our soldiers (to fill out and send to their near and dear). Needlepoint, simple knitting, beginner piano, spending time with friends, and walking around our beautiful area are some of my other diversions. I hope to take up bicycle riding as soon as the weather permits (and I am in no hurry for this opportunity). Winter is my favourite time of year! I love snow and cold weather, two luxuries I missed greatly, being raised in Florida.
I am the only 'reader' in my house. I have recently joined my first book club. The other members are delightful and we have a fun time discussing the books (which I rarely like). I didn't mean to join a book club, I don't usually like people dictating what I read. So this is a challenging experience in this regard.
