  • The Burglar in the Closet (Bernie Rhodenbarr Mysteries (Paperback))
    • Rated 3 stars

The second book in the Bernie Rhodenbarr series. :) Bernie's a real character now, introductions no longer needed. The predicament he finds himself in is even more bizarre than in the first book -- here, he is stuck in the closet of an apartment, where a woman gets murdered. In finding the real culprit (and clear his name in the process), we see how far Bernie goes. Of course, it's probably because his own fate is on the line, but it's fun to see him devote time and effort and even make sacrifices to find out the truth. This book is light and fun, but not at all corny, and never boring. Recommend y'all to read it! :)

The first of the Bernie Rhodenbarr Series, and it's a very good start!

Bernie introduces himself, what he does for a living, and tells about his lifestyle. (And this is before he became a book seller.)

The mystery is not as complicated as the books that follow it, but it's an adequate introduction, and it shows enough about how Bernie thinks, and what his attitude in life is. And the best part? It's one of the funniest books in the series.

If you like the Bernie Rhodenbarr series, you just can't miss reading this!

I honestly thought this books was just about friendship. They should really be more specific about what they write in the synopsis at the back of the book.

Anyway... I'm halfway through the story, and although the idea of running away to look for a Witch's Carnival is great, and perhaps it gives an accurate depiction of troubled teens, there's nothing else in the story but angst angst angst.

I'm actually a bit sorry I bought this book. :(

One of the cutest and funniest "What If" situations. It's very unlikely to actually happen, but that's why it's called fiction!

You'll be rolling your eyes at some things though, i.e. the main character dyeing all her clothes black. I mean, come on. How, poser-like is that?! :P But still, fun to read!

The most honest and useful book on writing that I've read so far.
