I do enjoy reading. My favorite reading is something inspirational, empowered or helpful, a book that will help to keep me moving forward.

Hi. Great to hear from you. You can reach out to Dalai Lama and even Gautam Buddha through books and over Internet. They all seem to talk the same language. Reading their words will only deepen your understanding about yourself. While on meditation, it can begin with something as simple as being aware of whatever you do through the day. The best tool is to feel your incoming and outgoing breath. When sitting in meditation it is best to arm yourself with a lot of patience - because we donot actually need to do anything then - and then watch (feel) your breath. During daytime, when you are working or interacting with friends, with a little practice you will be able to watch your breath. Nothing much more is needed for peace, traquility and compassion to descend. Enjoy.

There are many books on the mind, on your book-rack. It was exhilarating to notice that. It is great news Hope, and I am very happy for you. For, I believe that Mind is the gateway to a deeper understanding of existence and also for experiencing the heavenly tranquility that we see reflected on the faces of masters like Buddha.

I too have read T-N-H. He is a great master and I have two or three of his books. I will soon start on the White Clouds. Plz also read Dalai Lama and if you like Osho too. And, if it is not too much of liberty on my part, here is an unsolicitated advice - along with reading, do practice meditation - and plz chose the simplest of techniques. It is a whole new world waiting to open up. Enjoi.

Hi Hope (those two words seem to ryhme - hi hope :-)) it is difficult to read two-three books at a time. I have done it a couple of times, but then I have got back to reading one at a time. But, you know what - reading is enjoyable. Be it one, two or three books. So I am sure you are enjoying urself. And, yes, I saw Pampe's note - she is got the right suggestions do read TN Hahn and Dalai Lama. They are v v good. They speak about meditation and how to keep your mind disciplined so that life is less stressful, more enjoyable and we can become more sensitive by following this simple way of life. That is all they teach (both Lama and Hahn) - simple way of life that increases our joy factor. Beacause, life is always giving us causeless joys but some of us think that things or experiences give us joy - actually it is a state that is not rooted to any rhyme or reason. So simple enjoy.
