I started a group called Read-a-Likes, and I'm trying to get some active readers involved in the group to help create lists of, well, read-a-likes. The group is small as I just started it the other day and only have a few posts, but I'd really like to get some more active members that can help create these lists. I think that it would come in handy for other members that are looking for some helpful readers advisory. Check out the group if you're interested: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/26266/about (i think that might work, haha). Again, the group's name is Read-a-likes.

    Thanks

    K.

I read Sacrament last summer and I thought it was pretty good, though I must say I like Galilee by him a lot more. Both are about the same length, but Sacrament's plot I think is a bit easier to grasp then Galilee's, but they're both very good books

I agree IT just cannot translate its horror on screen, though that is typical with all of King's novels made movies.

I see what you mean. I myself am a history fanatic so anything with a historical backdrop to it catches my interest immediatly. I myself am very eclectic with my beliefs in terms of faith and what not, but I'm more familiar with Christianity. Recently I've taken an interest in Buddhism so I plan to reasearch on that. Thank you for sharing with me :)

No problem, you seem like a very interesting person so maybe we could bounce ideas off each other.
You have a nice list of books as well, I'm noticing a lot of it pertains to religion. It's a subject that intrigues me as well, may I ask what draws you to it?

HIS -- I loved House of Mirth because it's such an honest portrayal of the choices women had during that time period. Women who were "well bred" were, in fact, not bred to be more than being lovely objects to be admired from afar and not to be enterprising or self-reliant.

Yes, it was horribly depressing. And I like that!

Ha! I got your note on my 50 books thread about Harry Potter. I was skeptical too. I started reading them a few weeks ago when I was going to visit my nephew, a big HP fan. Well, ends up that the books are right up my alley - fantasy with lots of good v. evil, interesting themes with regard to ambition and relationships, etc. I'm actually very sad that I'm reading the last one! I'd love for the stories to continue. :-)

Hi! I'm not sure if it notifies you, but I responded to your question on my 50-Book-Challenge post about Lee Strobel's newest book. :)
